Occupy Wall Street Protest

The Occupy Wall Street Protest movement is more of a global movement than US based. It’s origins probably started with the revolutions in the Arab world and the May 2011 Spanish Protests which also saw an occupation of a city center. Now the Occupy Wall Street Movement itself has gone global but to pin down a date for astrological purposes I have decided to stick to the first Occupy Wall Street protest: #OCCUPYWALLSTREET will begin @12pm at Bowling Green Park, NYC.

We and other astrologers all have been linking these global protest movements to the major planetary influence over the next few years, Uranus square Pluto, “a major generational upheaval…The focus is on revolutionary change.” In that article I also stressed the importance of the Internet in this radical change and we have seen how important this has been in the organization and leaderless nature of the global movement for change.

Occupy Wall Street Horoscope

So in the chart for Occupy Wall Street it is not surprising that Uranus is square Pluto by less than two degrees. Interesting Pluto has “stood still” on September 17, stationing ready to turn direct again. Pluto is the masses, and we can see that moment as people gathered in the park as a turning point, a call to the global community for action. The people gathered and stood still in the Park, ready to embark on their revolution.

Uranus square Pluto was not only spurred on by the station of Pluto, but it was also activated that day by Venus. Venus is opposite Uranus, square Pluto. Venus here can represent to desire for fairness, equality and peace. These are qualities associated with the Sun sign Libra, but that is only because it is said that Venus rules Libra. Above all though, it is the planet Venus which rules harmony and peace.

Venus also rules money, so with Venus activating Uranus square Pluto the revolution is about economic equality, socialistic values. Explosive outbursts directed at the aristocracy. The Uranus Pluto conjunction in the 1960’s saw peace protests. This time around with the square there is still an underlying peace movement feel but these values are definitely more linked to the economy, particularly the perceived failure of capitalism.

Many of us have been predicting economic disaster, a complete failure of the capitalist system. Astrologers and now even some economists are saying “depression”. Billionaire George Saros wrote on September 27, “Financial markets are driving the world towards another Great Depression with incalculable political consequences.”

I believe the Occupy Wall Street movement is a manifestation of our collective fear about where the global economy is headed. The finger is being pointed before the final economic disaster. The is shown n the chart by the Midheaven (MC), usually representing the leader in a mundane chart, but in this case it would be the collective. MC conjunct the fixed star Zosma gives the “ability to prophesy”.

The movement represents not just a need for change of the financial system alone. There is the desire for peace which is linked to finance, so much money wasted on death and destruction. There is also an environmental factor, the feeling we need to move away from the burning of fossil fuels which is raising global temperatures and sea levels. We can see this in the chart with Sun opposite Ceres because Ceres is the Earth Goddess associated with environmental concerns.

Occupy Wall Street Future

All the square and opposition point to a big struggle. But that how it should be, if they were easy trines and sextiles there would not be the motivation and everyone would still be blobbing in front of the idiot box. With Mars trine the Ascendant there is the energy and motivation for this movement to keep going.

The movement will of course face strong opposition. Pluto not only rules the mass movement but also police and spy agencies. Uranus square Pluto can manifest as a Cyber spy: Thomas Ryan. The Descendant (DC) in a chart rules partners but also open enemies. These open enemies will take the form of police and behind them government and money men. With the fixed star Algol on the DC we can expect violence, batons to the head.

  1. glad you put this up Jamie and looking forward to where the discussion might take us – got to take issue with one thing you’ve said here tho – “I believe the Occupy Wall Street movement is a manifestation of our collective fear about where the global economy is headed.” – yes, of course theres fear of the consequences, however, I’d say the opposite, its a much more consciously motivated movement and this sentence does a diservice to the clear intelligence, clear sightedness and fearlessness of the People

    • Yeah, fear was probably the wrong word. I was trying to express how many around the world can see where things are going, i.e. badly for the economy. I may actually be picking up on the fear of the people who have the most to loose, those employed in the financial system and especially the older generations who have their life saving tied up in the stock market.

      • And what about the younger ones who have no savings at all – or pensions? This is a lot of people in the Uranus PLuto generation!!

    • I support the demonstrations, but if the people had been clear sighted and fearless they would have begun demonstrating when the bailouts were endorsed by Bush and Obama standing hand in hand, or when Bush’s Patriot Act – voted for by Obama – was signed, tossing the Constitution into the dustbin. The “Occupy” movement was instigated and run by corporate-funded socialists. Yes, that’s weird – but true. And the right thinks Obama is a socialist, while the left thinks he’s a tool of the banksters. Are they both right? If you are “clear-sighted and fearless” under these conditions, you are probably deluding yourself!

Reading Antony C. Sutton’s “Wall Street and the Bolsheviks” may help. Wall Street has done more for socialism than any “revolutionary” in the street ever could.

      • good response – and I take your point, but, I do not agree with the idea that these demonstrations are based upon fear or lack of clear insight – when I went to London Occupy on saturday it was clear to me why I was there and I didn’t feel any fear – I did not encounter a single person who gave me any reason to think that they were not clear about the issues or were fearful either, let alone deluded – very much to the contrary – we’ll see when I get back there – perhaps we should all speak for ourselves – I don’t believe anyone can have a monopoly on the reasons behind this movement now – and you certainly can’t see fear or lack of it in an astrology chart…

        • I’m not so much doubtful about the “fear” part – the protesters everywhere seem very courageous, the police actually seem more fearful, and certainly more violent.

My concern is about the clear-sightedness part. I’d like to see us come out of this with smaller governments that are more responsible to their people, rather than as an excuse to swoop in with a pre-arranged “global governance” plan – by the predatory forces that have been pursuing global government all along.

          • I agree – and, we should be under no illusions about the predatory human nature at work here – these are very early days – just the bow-shocks – the astrology says 4-5 years of deeply radical influence – however, it would be naive to think that even that is enough to subdue or change the predatory side of human nature given our track record – I hope otherwise tho….anything is possible

  2. Dear Dark Ones,
living here in the USA, as an strologer I have been watching our National chart…we have Pluto at late degree Capricorn…this is the beginning of our Pluto return…with the aspects to our Venus and as we are in the midst of a National Saturn Return…the juice is pouring all over the place…always as Pluto has entered Capricorn, Populace Movements have emerged and Revolutions have taken place…this money thing we are going thru with the Uranus squatting on the bugger, is wonderously disturbing and quite painful for many Americans…especially ”THE WORKERS”” so…..yes, this is just the beginning my darlings..and personally I must say ..finally!!!…the nonreality in this great nation is mind-maddening…only when the pacifier has been taken from the mouthes will there we awakening….thus, layoffs…home losses…homelessness…increased domestic violence…increased suicides brought on by lack….Ceres is around this show…as is Lilith….the female is basically tired of being abused….so…I view this with a wide lens and and be prepared to be surprised and amazed @ what the populace in this country will do….King George lost us during the last Pluto in Capricorn….

    • HI Steel, thanks for posting the Sibly chart. Pluto now opposite the USA Venus Jupiter fits so well with a financial crisis as a result of greed and overspending. Venus conjunct Jupiter sounds like a lovely blend but there is a negative manifestation which is greed, gluttony, obesity. It seems the opposition from Pluto by transit is showing the consequences of those negative traits.

      • Yes Jamie,
just in this time, Jupiter is in a very close proximity to our viewing….there was a time that I did some research regarding the Persian Astrological Significations in regards to planetary personalities and their manifestations….well, Jupiter and Venus were not so ”benific””…they had a side that was quite dark…curious thing perception and then translation of influences…those djins and such…I am in Seattle where the initial WTO actions set the benchmark for public displays of reaction and comment…the mayor is being quite cautious on the handling of the Occupy in City Center…and yes..the Pluto opposition is performing in true forme….foodbanks are taxd as well as shelters are closing across the country due to lack of funding…the Capitalist System is being refitted….lots of people waking up from the long dreame….and of coures, thank you for creating this platforme for all of us to connect thru….

        • Yes I heard that, cutting welfare spending but not taxing the rich. A recipe for revolution if ever there was one. Thanks for the compliments, just another nexus in the web (the global brain).

  3. Excellent article and on point. I only disagree about Pluto… Pluto seems to be the government and Uranus is the people rising up against their governments in a revolt.

    • Interesting point Sharon. We could see Pluto and Uranus on both sides I think. Uranus is the progressive side of government (Saturn conservative). Pluto definitely does rule big government as you say, especially global organizations like the IMF and even the big banks. I’m coming around to your side though, Uranus revolutionaries squaring off against Pluto being business and government.

  4. But then I must say that the Pluto effect is of that which rises from the depth to express itself eventually…in the case of Pluto returns, this is a cleaning up of the house…I do not have the article right here, but there is a great article on the Web somewhere of Pluto in Capricorn thru the ages, and the awakenings in the populace ..revolutions and the such…what governments do not really want to happen…curious how that is….eventually there will be government by the people for the people and of the people..tbe historical process we are in is rather like the mutation process in genetics…adaptation takes time….as does collective consciousness coming of age….I would see the government as more a Saturn thing…which in the case of the USA, WE ARE IN A LONG PROCESS OF PLUTO SQUARE OUR NATAL SATURN…seeing this as the citizenry and its internal process, then this regarding the forme government will become….I like this back and forthe…all matters concerning money are ruled by Pluto…and as the governments are more or less economic entities…then I could see Pluto having relationship to governments this way….power/money…..

  5. What is the demand? Nothing short of DEMOCRACY.
What is the action? Building a society that values each human being through an exemplar community that puts a premium on DEMOCRACY.
What is the Problem? The crony capitalism of Wall Street is corrupting the democracy of the United States of America.
The demand is reasonable. The complaint is valid, and the methodology is peaceful.

  6. Hi!
Thank you very much for the remarkable note, Jamie!

Regarding masses, we should not forget that ALL of US are Pluto AND Uranus. Intentions matter much more, the ones that are not to be seen and that might well be in the opposites, manifesting the “good” and the “not so good”, within.

Regarding Petroleum energy, WWF seems to mind that oil will support the golbal needs -global commerce, big industries, usw- and we, ALL have to be very careful of the use of Earth´s means. Industry would be much more socially and ambientally responsible. And Oil will grow scarce. Meanwhile, we should support alternatives (not easy, just to think that biofuel seems to do much more harm that fossil energies, because it needs such an ample grade of soil!).

Seems that we ALL have to leave adolescence and enter in a much more mature human stage. These and those. We are ALL ONE! And we should be humble (do own´s part and stop criticizing others).

I´ve read -and seem real in this happenings ocurring in my country- that youths really reflect and dialogue about alternative means for every one, while protesting.

May I thank you very much for your insight! Thanks for letting us reflect.

    Rín.

    • Thanks, we all have Uranus and Pluto and even in this mundane chart both sides of the battle exhibit those characteristics. We have a battle in Australia at the moment about energy. The government is funding green energy and the conservative opposition is promising to scrap the funding if they win the next election.

      • Yes, Jamie!

Seems that intentions seem to be much more to be crystal clear to many of us!

        Rín.

  7. More food for astrological thought, I found extremely revealing and worthy of consideration, concerning the mess of stars/planets we will be facing in the very near future. This lady apparently is based out of DC and so politically savvy as well as an Astrologer who has been studying the world politics for awhile now and incorporating with her Astrology. In particular, Russia is delineated for possible threats to stability coming up:

  8. everything is pending, pre-view of comming ecconomic disaster and real social unrest, not the fake play acting of occupiers. look we are heading for saturn in scorpio and some compliance w/ capricorn/pluto. Cap/pluto loves to take, sat/scorpio loves to kill.

    • Hey Lucy…like the Saturn in Scorpio and” loves to kill”….I have a friend who has Saturn in Scorpius and he inflicts near deathe encounters upon those he has decided are bad people….and yes, the face of anguish and anger are very real, once the people show this face the shit will hit the fan…and in a way that will be really uncomfortable for the ”cruise line industry”….politicians and corporate types must be viewing the Greek reality with some dread…..this awakening will only continue I feel….and who ever said that revolution will put everything in order in a few months….the Pluto/Uranus timeline is almost geological in nature…being a Capricorn with trans Pluto on my Sun –then natal square of Saturn to my Sun…second saturn return….I feel all this in my life and in the outer world as well itz as though watching this great drama unfold…

  9. Jamie, Thank you for your astute insights on the Occupy Wall Street astrology chart. I was wondering…with Algol on the descendant…do you think the people might bring back the Guillotine? (Just sayin’)

    • Metaphorically at least. I saw some placards from Wall Street encouraging the “$%@#er’s to jump.

  10. Hi Jamie – I was hoping you’d write something up on the protests and you didn’t disappoint.:) My Chiron/Uranus opposition – in the 6th/12th – is at the midpoint of the Pluto/Uranus square (as is President Obama’s Ascendant) and I feel these energies deeply. It’s interesting how Aquarius represents the near midpoint (with Damocles within a degree) and also how transiting Mars in Leo is currently setting off this point – I *think* the opposition is exact tomorrow.

While I understand why the protests are aimed at the larger corporations and to a lesser extent, government (these entities affect such large numbers of people in such inescapable, significant ways), I hope this movement helps make people more aware of how interconnected we all are as individuals and more conscientious as a result.

I also think it’s good to remember that even smaller businesses aren’t exempt from the temptations of power leading to abuse, and neither are groups of individuals joined powerfully together. The inhumanity of carelessness and greed aren’t traits unique to Wall Street – corporations, like governments, are made up of individual people just like the rest of us, and in most cases, it took the support of a large number of people in order for these entities to become as powerful as they are. It won’t be enough to protest – it will also require positive actions in support of the changes being demanded; if each of us were to make a genuine attempt to lead our own lives with the same high level of personal and professional integrity we’re demanding from Wall Street at a corporate level, then how could the world *not* be a better place? The pull of these astrological energies exists within each of us.

With Aquarius at the midpoint of the Uranus/Pluto square, righting social injustice may be the broad common goal that unites us, but attention to the day-to-day practical details involved in making changes real (let alone agreeing on what specific changes are needed) may prove to be more of a challenge. I pray these protests remain not only peaceful, but also respectful and don’t degenerate into mindless excuses for committing acts of violence or scapegoating coming from either side – unfortunately, some of the websites/links I’ve seen seem to be leaning in that direction (not yours, Jamie). As I think you mentioned in your post on the Uranus/Pluto square, this really is a spiritual test for us all.

    • Nice find on Damocles. Very good point about the interconnectedness of this. There are rather nasty oligarchs at the top with ugly morals, and then the peasants at the bottom. But then there are the majority somewhere in between like me who are the ones that really need to initiate the change, like you inferred, at home first. Lifestyle, what we buy, how we vote.

      • “But then there are the majority somewhere in between like me who are the ones that really need to initiate the change, like you inferred, at home first. Lifestyle, what we buy, how we vote.”

Exactly, Jamie.:) Imagine what an impact it might have if we all began to (respectfully) hold our elected government representatives accountable for their campaign promises by constantly letting them know exactly where we stand on specific issues (after first making an effort to become more fully informed on those issues) and then telling them we’ll no longer settle for the “lesser of two evils” when we vote, even if that means not voting for anyone. If we want things to change, we have to be willing to stop playing the same old corrupt game by the same old corrupt rules. As it stands now, some of the same politicians who perpetuated (and actively supported) our system of corporate greed are claiming to support the demonstrations, and are even attempting to use them as a platform for reelection.

And if we don’t like the way a particular business is run, we should let them know and if we’re able to, stop buying their product. Many, many years ago – when group health insurance was still affordable, even for small businesses – I stopped giving my business to a favorite dentist, after finding out he failed to provide health insurance for his full-time, long-term office assistant. This was a church-going man, with a thriving family practice in an upscale neighborhood, who regularly volunteered his services providing dental care in underdeveloped countries at his own expense. Go figure. Appearances can often be deceiving.

It matters how we treat others, even when we disagree or dislike them, and even when no one is looking. Ok, I’ll get off my soapbox now.:)

  11. Any thoughts about the Occupy Melbourne going pair-shaped today? I had a look but nothing jumped out at me… I am not sure of the chart for Melbourne though.

    • Yeah I was watching that on ABC24 today for a while. I haven’t had a chance to look at any of the astrology but I think it might have a lot to do with the Queens visit to exactly that part of the city in a couple of days.

  12. 1848 was a big year. It is the year of the Communist Manifesto and George Will’s Progress & Poverty (both discussing industrialization’s inability to bring about promised social equality). It was also the year that Neptune moved into Pisces the last time. This year Neptune moved into Pisces in April, around the time of the Arab Spring. The month Neptune went into Pisces in 1848, the globe erupted in a class-based revolution called The Spring of Nations!! Coincidence??

You might also consider the transit of Neptune into Pisces before that( 1648). This transit coincided with a major blow to global colonization (since that was the major power structure of the time) where revolts took place all over the colonized world. It was sort of an… Occupied Spring? The Spanish colonists were almost completely wiped off the Americas in 1684 by the natives, there were major slave revolts in Jamaica, the Christians in E Europe overthrew their Ottoman overlords, and the Colonial charter that gave the Puritans authority (power) over colonists was revoked.

In the transit before that, in 1520, the Spanish people revolted against their Monarch, high taxation, and foreign, non-representative influence in their lives(they also had a sort of “Tea Party” that had revolted against the same government the year prior… anti-tax, anti-immigrant, and anti-Islamic that had a similar list of complaints, but the two groups never joined forces), the Aztecs revolted against the Spaniards(and, the Aztec empire fell to the benefit of all the peoples they had enslaved) , as well as it being an important year for the Reformation.

1356 started the famous French “Peasant’s Revolt”, as well as similar activities in 1193 and 1029, but we don’t have too much information to go on. And, hardly anything from a local level (since there wasn’t much nationalism in the feudal locality-restricted Middle Ages; where a five person uprising against the sheriff might have as much weight as a modern march on the banks).

These aren’t the only revolts or revolutions in history, nor are they the most note-worthy. They do share similar, unique characteristics with each other, though. They punctuate the timeline with instances where the lowest strata of society raise their heads and say “STOP!”. The Christians in Ottoman culture were slaves, as were the American natives to the Spaniards, and the Jamaican… slaves; they were the people that were paid peanuts and a whip-lash to bring someone beef tenderloin. These were the laity protesting the clergical abuses of post-Moor Spain. In all of these revolts, those people that the Piscean Jesus called “the least of these” stood up, and asked that they be treated like equals; asked to be given a fair shake.

Importantly, though, if you pay attention to what happens to these revolutions, you will see that they are unorganized, emotional outbursts against oppressive conditions. They never accomplish the reforms they set out to achieve, and they almost always led to more emotionally-charged uprisings later which were repressed in a violent manner. Harsher treatment of slaves, eradication of Aztecs/native culture and a horrible intensification of Spanish Inquisition(which no one expected).

    • Spot on there Buddy….I have been following the entrance of Neptune into Pisces for some time…as a trance medium, I have been experiencing a deepening of my own interfacing with that realme…the Neptunian formless realme…my body has been releasing tremendous amounts of deathe and dis-ease ….as you have a somewhat of a timeline in your post on the transit thru the years…I had been following a similar line of the Pluto in Capricorn history….revolutions galore…case in point, the American Revolution…with Pluto @ 27-28 degrees Capricorn…and as we are the New Rome…..as Rome goes so goes the World…really appreciated your post…the long view is how I am viewing these outer planet transits…and then with Uranus entering Airies..all three are in early degree transit mode…slow movers…collective instigators…tectonic applications…thanks again mate…gonna dive into the Neptune info now….

  13. These comments are very enriching!

My son -18 years old- is participating in the march, in Ciudad de México, where we live. They discuss in circles! and seem to be proactive and constructive (no all…). And my daughter understands and supports this global movement (though, she acts by other means, because of the high rate of violence within this land). I tell them that it is generational and that they should participate and do their best).

Youngsters by museums I work with have this same feeling (not all; some are negleting their interests and some others -comfortable- gaining secondarly by doing nothing because of fear (?)… Panic! to face reality.

I agree with Damocles relating this interconnection between us All (expressing it by saying We Are All One).

And the remarks made by Bobby seem astonishing to me (I agree!). It is the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine), like the youngsters song say!

    Thankyou very much.

    Rín.

  14. “It is the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine), like the youngsters song say!” But I think in the process…

  15. What can I say about melancholy in a sunday afternoon! And entering in my saturn opposition to Sun/MH… Mhhh! Work hard, keep low profile, reflect, unsw!

    Rín.

    Thanks Jamie!

  16. Oh! I have this sextile Chiron with my Saturn (for good and bad!).

    Rín

    Nice week for all!

  17. nice collection of shit-boxes,(everybody hurts)j. posted, ‘cash for clunkers,’ silicone cement in the tank, run for a few, memories turn to trash and it did hurt! Like everything Obama does! however is he here to break apart bad growth? and what of occupy what ever street. The ‘bad growth’ is nurtured by banks who gave the in some cases 200k student loans for worthless irrelevant diplomas, that might of been earned on line, they enter a world like a patient waking up form surgery feeling empty, suspecting the missing parts happened while they were asleep and all of authority calls them spoild, like the scar’s a good price.

I think cerces rules virgo and not mercury, as virgo nurturing comes with the price of obedience, I’ve enough virgo to understand that advice given is often well thought out and the dismay when it’s cast aside!

We also have in ‘occupy’ the actor uranius aries square lack of resources, so their actions get them nowhere.

    • Really Lucy…the American situation has been going on since credit cards were invented…unreal lives by unreal means….quite simply the pain is predictable…not really good or bad…just the way it is…WAKE UP DARLINGS!!!!

      • suggestions, (lies) are ours to sort out, (a college grad makes more! houses are a good investment salesmen don’t lie) except dept isn’t forced, no one hauls me off the street for medical care, no one is making the occupiers sit in the snow…so that’s where it is for everything, force usually involves crime, unless one is a child

    • I’m with you on Ceres and Virgo, so were the old astrologers. Both represent sustainability which is not continual growth and record profits.

  18. and to sustain things must be occationally cut or harvested. There’s a ‘mother,(dad)-knows-best’ component to cerces/virgo that cuts one back, (pulls the check rein) when going/growing in the wrong direction.

Obama’s mars/virgo; cap./sat are in play now which a free thinking american aquarius/moon, and equalizing/law/saturn/libra american natal resents bigtime

  19. ironic, the quote from Soros.. nothing stopped him from manipulating currency back on Sept 16 1992.

Black Wednesday refers to the events of 16 September 1992 when the British Conservative government was forced to withdraw the pound sterling from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM) after they were unable to keep it above its agreed lower limit. George Soros, the most high profile of the currency market investors, made over US$1 billion profit by short selling sterling.

    Nice work George.

  20. You have to seriously ask why in the world would Matt Damon narrate a tragically flawed movie”INSIDE JOB” and present George Souros as some one to listen to,much less trust. There was a lot of truth to the movie but many holes & disinformation. This was the precursor along with many others,to the OWS movement, that all though change is needed & on it’s way, there are forces well aware of the unrest & grooming it into the direction that they can control. The provocateurs are in the shadows,as always, directing much of the rebellion/energy.Soon to become very vocal & prominent. What can one see as a possible outcome of expansive & violent protests?

OAKLAND, CA. — Vanloads of officers from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department and unmarked SWAT vans are at the police command center at the Port of Oakland.
Protesters have effectively shut down maritime operations at the port, Director Omar Benjamin said Wednesday, as more than 4,500 people arrived at the gates.
Earlier, 50 police officers, many in riot gear and armed with tear-gas canisters, formed a line at Maritime and Bataan roads, near the police command center. About a dozen motorcycle officers had formed a second line behind the police, but have now moved.
About a dozen protesters on bicycles were facing off with the officers but are now riding around the streets outside the port. Where they are headed was not immediately known.
The crowd of more than 4,500 arrived at the Port shortly after 5 p.m. and stretched several blocks down Middle Harbor Road leading into the port as they begin their attempt to shut down the port for start of the 7 p.m. night shift.
Benjamin pledged that normal port operations would resume when “it’s safe and secure to do so.”
“We ask that everyone remain calm, respectful and safe. Specifically, we ask that demonstrators allow port workers safe passage home. Please allow our fellow 99 percent to get home safe to their families.”
