Pluto Transits

Pluto transits to the natal chart signals significant life changing events that last about 18 months. As Robert Hand says, “Pluto is not a mild or even very subtle planetary influence. You can always see its effects very clearly.” [Planets in Transit, p.477.]

Along with Eclipses, Pluto transits are the best way to understand the significant changes going on in your life. They mark major turning points, and you can gain an understanding of the past by looking back and learning to deal with what is happening now. Looking ahead can give you clues about your future.

  1. Could you discuss or comment on transiting Pluto opposition to the moon?

My natal moon is 11 degrees Cancer and Pluto is coming into oppose it.
I’m feeling the effects, for example experiencing pain around my upbringing, concerning
    my mother.

And feeling this projected onto another relationship which I’m experiencing as similar.

    • Hi Steve, I’ve just posted Pluto conjunct Moon and will do the hard aspects like square and opposition to the Sun and Moon before I cover the sextiles and trines. I didn’t cover early childhood and the mother in that Pluto Moon transit but what you are experiencing is definitely a common theme with these ones. I’ll try and get to Pluto opposite Moon next. I’ve been through Pluto square my Moon and did have intense dealings with my mother then, lots of chats about family issues during my childhood. These transits can be very stressful for the women in our lives.

      • Sorry that should have said a waning opposition between Neptune + Chiron and natal Pluto, being triggered again for last time now.

    • Hi Steve

Pluto is very slow moving and the first exact transits to 11 Cap (opp 11 Cancer) will not be until 2013 through 2014 – Pluto goes retro and direct three times through this period, and up to 2015, on or near this degree and so there is a long window for any influence to plat its part.

Being a long process there is also plenty of time to adjust and you may find yourself living life in a more meaningful way as you do. I mention this as I have had Pluto opposite my Moon for some time and have found it a good energy to work with if you are prepared to put in the work. It can really help you to transform your life in a good way.

On a personal level it can be an energy like a total detox, mental, physical, emotional (how you relate to spirit evolves anyway through this) – your own experience however may be very different. Yes, it can bring up deep seated matters that need total overhaul, but, if worked with consciously this is very empowering – and, yes, this can be a labourious transit, but, it is something you may really benefit by. I have felt it very strongly, especially in my emotional body and also within how I relate to and embrace other peoples emotions – it is profound and beautiful. The transit for me is made especially strong because it is also in a waning square to my natal Pluto, so it comes on the tail of an even longer Plutonic process.

Bearing the latter in mind, I will say also that if, as I did, you feel you need help, get it. I had a fierce councellor (which was exactly what I chose) who was able to really go there with me….and, for all the effort, it has now brought me to a feeling of great clarity and purposefulness about what I am here to do in this lifetime. I has brought out my passions and they are a great driving force if you want to make something of your life. I want to add though that your own experience will be very personal to you, depending upon other related aspects in your chart, and you may actually not experience any ‘events’, rather an underlying feeling tone – it is usual that there is some strong effect tho.

And my Mum?. Well, she’s in her 80’s, is fine, and it is true, my own perspectives towards her have become transformed and deepened. Good Luck and good preparations – you might want to include some more in-depth astrology with our noble hosts here as a part of this!

      • My husband is getting that opposition just now, with the inclusion of not just his natal Moon but also Jupiter (since the two are conjunct early in Cancer)

Its nice to read some positive dynamic concerning how this has taken effect in people’s lives.. but like Saturn, sometimes the Pluto influence in a dynamic set can actually be like the transformation that one is supposed to look forward to, even though at the time its happening, its dreaded but accomplishment is great… like many years of school and learning!

I’m still worried concerning Pluto coming into opposition to my Natal Mars.. since these planets are known for raising a bit of conflict (and so am I) not to mention natal Mars in my chart is a midpoint (Cancer and first house) for both Saturn/Pluto (quintile and biquintile aspect Aries/Virgo ) No matter how it adds up, even a fluffy trine to these would not be a walk in the park.

I guess when one has more to learn, school is in order!

        • yeh Alter, make no mistake Pluto Moon has been a pressure cooker, plenty of hard knocks in the playground and letting off steam

I was 44 when I had Pluto opp natal Mars and it was smack on my 1st house Saturn with Mars transiting there too (so Mars opp Mars also) – came out of hellish place abroad and landed home with a bang – very lonely time, grief, but, led to snapping out of it and healing wounds I had helped to cause…to myself as well as others, rebuilding relationships, forging an authentic path

  2. will you be writing about Pluto conjunct ascendant? my kids will be going through it in a year or two…my daughter is pretty much having it now with pluto just one degree from her Cap ascendant.

  3. Dear Jamie,
I am having the current pluto/uranus square triggering my natal nodes (7° cancer/south node and 7° capricorn/north). En plus my progressed asc/desc is squaring the natal nodes (2011/2012); and thus also activating the uranus/pluto square into a big square. … the last three years were already very difficult to live, and I was wondering when the “dead end” I am in, will clear up? Can it still get worse, or will there come change for the better? Are you planning to write something on these asepcts? Thank you very much, Eva

    • Well looks like Pluto transiting the nodes is causing some concern, I just anwered Debora below on a similar question. It may take a while before I get to research this one because I am focusing on AC Sun and Moon at the moment. Look to that comment below and think about buying Jeffs book, I found it extremely helpful when I was going through some rough times.

I’ll get these posts out on AC Sun and Moon for each major aspect, then I think I can speed things up by writing a general posts and all aspects from then on, eg, Pluto – Node transits. In the meantime, reading the relevent aspects for the Moon will give you the general idea.

  4. Pluto is great….transiting the collective…bringing popularist awakenings{Arab Spring}…I was born with Pluto conjunct my Natal Moon/ Midheaven in Leo…Scorpio rising….Mars opposition to Pluto ..Squaring Ascendant….Pluto has been an incredible guide/mentor throughout my whole life….presently with Pluto in Cap…the conjunction to my Natal Sun is in process…at the same time I am having Transiting Pluto oppose Natal Uranus….I have aquired a cello and am reaquanting myself with this glorius instrument I play long long ago….same with the Piano….I have reawakened old relationships with these resonant creatures….at the same time my second Saturn Return has occured @ 2 Libra…Transiting Pluto was on hand to be the outer planet Square…this was the beginning of all this Pluto action….lotsa discovering how I feel embracing musical craft ….as a medium, I find the Pluto in Capricorn transit refreshing…less hiding of information/behaviours…more visibility….itz a lot easier on my physical body….I really enjoy reading the shared experiences voiced upon this site…thank you for sharing…..

    • Thanks for sharing the positive side of Pluto! I must admit I learned to fear Pluto transit early on, but now, after the square to my Mars, Moon, Jupiter, Pluto, Sun, Uranus, now finally MC over the last 15 years, I can see the positive side. I’m still finding Pluto square MC a bit stressful, especially the first exact hit a few months ago, still learning to go with the flow!

  5. can you give me any info on trans.Ploto conjunct north node?

    • Hi Deborah – sign and house placement and any aspects with a fairly tight orb to the NN will show context, quality and some details of the unfolding experience, but, building upon Jamie’s response, Pluto transiting the North Node offers a radical revision of your life goals at a fundamental and wide ranging level of experience – what is brought into question with great meaning and depth is how your spiritual orientation determines your experiences of life, and how those experiences support your spiritual re-orientation – its essentially about seeing the world differently, and, to give an extreme example, it may even mean that an agnostic will have the foundations of their ‘beliefs’ completely transformed such that they find ‘spirit’ as a central and undeniable foundation upon which they need to re-build their life! In transits, as an applying process is afoot, there may be a build up which reaches a point complete manifestation and signals a turning point – it may not even be noticeable at first so foresight tends to emphasise the energies of the process. That said, there are also elements of this transit that need careful conscious integration – there may be a total rejection of or an overwhelming desire to break free of the past that supports a new karmic experience in this lifetime and care must be taken not the ‘throw the baby out with the bath-water’ – another way of understanding this transit is to see the NN as the horse and the South Node as the cart – as conjunctions to the NN can put one directly in touch with the ‘divine’, through the intervention of Pluto the horse, for example, may become Pegasus (cf Algol article and ‘The Age of Pegasus’ article in the archives here) and seek to break free of the cart, rising renewed to new levels – since the ideal is that we take only what is useful from our past (SN) in our journey towards the NN, this analogy helps to see how the transformative power of Pluto may of its own nature tip the SN cart so that its contents are jetisoned, which, while leaving the cart free to become the vessel for new Karmic experience, may require a conscious renewal and reconstitution of your innate abilities (the cart’s contents) in ways that serve your new direction.

Although the NN is in retrograde motion this is a relatively slow transit and can be worked with, prepared for and integrated with great success as it suggests a new lease of life that has enormous value – also, since the NN is a place we have never been before, we are not naturally confortable about going there, even though at a soul level we know we must, and, although the process of journeying towards that place may bring very pronounced challenges, it also represents life experienced as a new adventure that is completely enchanting and unique the more one moves towards it – good luck! 😉

      • Looking at Pluto transits through your FB psge has led me to this post months later, but I wanted to reply because I had Pluto conjunct the NN at 6 Capricorn, and in the 11th house. This transit is all but done by now, I think a little ‘sputtering’ is left this year. This is a very good interpretation of the aspect I can attest, as I did experience a spiritual re-orientation and a break from the past, but what of it in the 11th house?

  6. I have not researched this one Debora. I’m not sure if Jeff Green mentions this in his book, Pluto: The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul. That title pretty well sums up what your transit means I think, might be worth buying his book. North Node is the path your soul is heading, Pluto is transformation of the soul.

  7. just for the record…has just dawned on me that Pluto was square my sun and asc and would have killed me last October if it wasn’t for ultrasound, CAT scans and fierce antibiotics. During that time I was forced to stop helping everyone around me, emotionally, physically, practically. i learnt that my girlfriends are angels and that my family, living and departed, are part of my being. Body and soul didn’t reconnect until Marina’s ‘Star Wars’ full moon in January. It’s been profound and beautiful but I’m lucky to have survived.
i’m lucky to have found this site – it’s like getting under the bonnet of your own life and, for me, so much more help than therapy.
Jeff Green’s book sounds like a must – Pluto squares my moon in 2014 – yay.

  8. what about Pluto conjuct natal MC and square natal AC transit?

    • Hi Zera, I have started some research on Pluto conjunct MC, and have posted about Pluto conjunct AC. I will get onto these hard transits to the angles this year, and hopefully the transits from Uranus. My aim is to get as many of the challenging Uranus and Pluto transit to the angles and personal planets done before the first of the Uranus Pluto square mid 2012. Pluto first though!

  9. Jamie –

I apologize if you’ve already addressed this before but have you written on PLUTO in Cap. trining the PLUTO in Vir. generation? I’ve been having a horrific time these past few years getting work and I’m seeing this repeatedly in my generation. (Full disclosure: I’m 49 with PL in Virgo and my Midheaven in Taurus.)

  10. When transiting Pluto was conjunct my midheaven I divorced after more than 20 years, quit my job after 17 years and moved cities after 25 years all at the same time. If that’s not rebirth I don’t know what is! lol.

    • Jupiter square Uranus,Jupiter opposition Neptune,Jupiter trine Pluto,Neptune trine Neptune and Jupiter conjunction Moon.
What does all, the one preclude the other?

  11. Heres one for you. In 1988/1989 Pluto was over my Moon and I almost died of cancer, but recovered through spiritual and alternative means, having been given up for dead by docs. Also in 1988, my mom passed.

Now Pluto is getting very close to my 11 Cap Merc, which is the ruler of Gemini ASC. If you’re thinking what I am, you are right– physical stuff with bones –my teeth are starting to crack off revealing some old metal fillings. And I’m having another thing with fatigue, which I think Ive nailed down to thyriod (after tests). ALthough it could be toxic stuff from the fillings. Also running through releasing a lot of negative mental habit patterns Ive had.

Pluto is like a guy who says he’s your friend, then drains you of everything you have so that you then can think about why you were holding on to it to begin with, and so you can start to learn to forgive him and move on.

  12. In my Natal chart, I apparently have Pluto rx in Virgo at 9°42’42” in my 12th house.

I have no clear idea how this current Pluto transit is aspecting this.

What I do feel is that there is a lot going on within. Internal change is happening but gosh darn it’s hard work. On the surface I “think” I appear calm and patient… internally though it feels like there is this charged energy hankering for release.

  13. @milk — Trans Pluto is trining your natal, helping you to discover what is trying to be released. In my experience the 12th is a tricky house. It has to do with looking within to find out how we are sabatoging ourselves, usually from subconscious old habit patterns of the past (or past lives). Its hard to access.

For you it revolves around Pluto energy, kind of a mystery wrapped in an enigima. Pluto is asking you to gut the subconscious of any old way of being that does not serve you now. . This could involve issues of trust, control or obsessions, and may involve giving up that which you hold dearest in order to grow or change for the better. Many times with Pluto there is a “forcing” of this change, but only when people do not go willingly.

Just by the fact that you are looking within and being self-aware will help greatly. Good luck, hope this helps.

  14. That’s very helpful Craig. In fact…it’s so “spot on” for what I’m currently dealing with (re a difficult relationship with a work colleague), that I’m slightly aghast.

I instinctively have known that the issue really lies with “me” at my core Self and the old habits that were formed when I was a child and bullied mercilessly. Now when I even feel a hint of the pattern, I revert into that cocoon of self protection instead of resolving to find a better way.

I’m on the path to that better way I think. Facing this challenge won’t be comfortable (and I am sooo all about comfortable with strong Libra Asc) but it will be necessary if I can indeed break this pattern to shreds.

Thanks heaps for the heads up.

  15. Transiting Pluto is almost conjunct my natal Neptune/Ascendant 9Cap and sextile my natal Pluto/MC/southnode (tightly conjunct) in Scorpio. My life is in shambles. I was homeless for a few months this past winter, fired from jobs for refusing to submit to sexual advances and refusing to be treated like a slave.I tried tapping into the higher expression of Pluto, (intense focus on work) only to be betrayed and used by people. I’ve been robbed, lied to, lied about, physically attacked twice in the past few months. All by people who I’ve been sincere and caring to. I’m quickly losing my once so bright faith in humanity. On the financial front, I can’t save a penny even though I work six days a week. I’ve now turned to drugs & empty sex in order to cope and I don’t really care about the consequences anymore because I think about ending it all every day. Pluto isn’t always there to empowe and rebuild. Sometimes it just wants to cOmpletely destroy. Thanks Pluto.

    • Sorry you are having such a rough time. Your list of issues is uncanny in resmblance to keywords regarding Pluto — sex, slavery, lies and betrayal. That’s Pluto stuff. Right now, Uranus is in Aries and this is playing havoc on you as well, not all Pluto’s “fault”.

And “intense focus on work” is not the answer to Pluto problems. It requires a lot more inner work, not busy work. They are talking about unwavering dedication to something meaningful.

Pluto is about letting go of that which does not serve your new self — the person you have become — any more. Sometimes it is like being peeled away to our core so that we can begin again.

Because of all your misfortune, I can only guess that the Neptune in the first is afflicted to begin with and that you have difficulty expressing yourself in a clear way. You may try to be who you are not, someone who is like an ideal person that the “other” would love to be with.

The difficulties are also tied to the Uranian infulence that is giving you issues or surprises periodically to try to shift you into a new way of being, one where you can be youreslf and be accepted as such on your own terms.

I could go on, but just wanted to say — Pluto is about acceptance and surrender of what is happening and trying to determine how to begin again at 0.There needs to be faith and inner awareness of how your choices, attitudes and actions have brought you to where you to are now. You are begin held accoutnable. This is a great opening for you, a portal. Allow the old to die and embrace the new. Stay with it, it will work out and — what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger.

      • Well said Craig. I understand the dark side of Pluto too, the drugs, crime, violence, betrayal. The only answer when you’re under the hammer like that is to forget about hippie ideals and get ruthless yourself. Once the transit passes then things do rise from the ashes.

  16. Is the meeting of Elisa, birth date 30.12.1955 at 12.25 (Midday) in geneva Switzerland and Johannes, born August 17th 1946 at 8h40 at Hilversum Netherland a soul mate encounter ? What can this bring to them and is it true love ?

  17. Hello Jamie and Marina. I am a Capricorn sun/Aries ascendant/Cancer moon. I am wondering if you know anything about Pluto crossing the MC? This is going to happen in 2013 for me. I have been very focused on career all my life and am in my first Saturn return. I have been successful but not to the extent which I crave. Would this aspect change things for the better? I’m in the arts/violinist. Also, what I have read about this transit sounds scary regarding family. I’m just not sure how to interpret it and it scares me a little. Any insight would be appreciated 🙂 Thank you in advance

    • Hi Cadence. Just throwing some thoughts out for you. I would be more interested to know when Pluto is going to hit your Sun (if it has not already)as there will be your main issue, especially if the Moon is in fairly close aspect to the Sun, and again if it is in close aspect to the ASC.

Pluto on the MC could mean that you may become even more obesessed with career to the exclusion of other “cardinal” areas of life — self, other, home. The main reason for Pluto’s existence is to ferret out those parts of a persons life that no longer apply and either turn those parts into something else more usable, or let them go completely forever. There are a lot of ways this could play out.

  18. I have jupiter (R) in 12th house. Pluto hit it in december 2010 and what i’ve been experiencing is a complete destruction of my (former) spiritual beliefs. All kind of beliefs that i felt to be true are just texts that i read somewhere- and i am quite knowledgeable about spirituality. I now have no interest in anything spiritual whatsoever, no mystical perception of things, or feelings. I began to believe that everything only and solely depends on me, nothing divine helping me or giving me what I ‘deserve’. That anything “divine” exists or not is irrelevant to me. I really don’t care about it. You know, i had that feeling, of classical views or esoteric views of “being connected with divine”- it is completely gone.

And nothing outside of me happened -in a physical sense- to trigger this. It was a gradual change inside of me.

    • Hi Kiel, it seems like there might have been more happening in your chart than Pluto on Jupiter in order to create such a fundamental change.

I just wanted to say that in my opinion, I believe that we all are connected (of the same Source) but we all must do our own work. Whether we “believe” or not is irrelevant in the end, because it is all cause and effect — we are responsable for all the energy that we put out, and what we put out comes back, period. That said, this is all an experiment anyway and people get hung up about all sorts of things (not meaning you). In the end it’s just a learning experience for the soul, our true self, which we are unaware of most of the time due to 3D constraints on our senses.

      • Hmm, my new mind (!) absolutely does not believe that we are here to experience anything at all. The thing is i’m not unhappy about all this, it was just something i did not expect. The thing is nothing is mystical to me and i perceive things as very physical. The concept “divine” is like some concept from Stone Age to me presently. For instance, astrology is nothing mystical or divine to me, because i perceive my natal chart as a software. Something mechanic. We might well be created by some beings just a little superior than us, and this is the way we are programmed. So-we are being USED. No experience. You don’t need such a long experience of anything. If you need to, for instance, experience a war; it’s enough you experience it for a month. You don’t need to experience being in jail for 10 years to learn about it, or for the sake of experiencing such a thing. To experience prostitution, it must be prtetty enough being a prostitute for 1 week. I don’t believe in a good-willed universe, or universal intelligence whatsoever.

Also, I’m psychic, and I have great deal of telepathic or remote viewing etc. abilities. These abilities stay with me, but the way I perceive them changed. There is nothing mystical or divine in my having such capabilities. I’m not gifted or i’m not spiritually evolving. Any thing could have them, it probably has a very physical/mechanic dynamic behind it. I’m like a robot, nothing much. That’s what I mean when i say that nothing is mystical, enigmatic or divine to me.

  19. Can you comment on transiting Pluto square the moon? This transit to my Libra moon in my fourth house has resulted in my mother’s final illness and eventual death but there is a final exact square due in December. I think this will be the time when I get rid of all of her things and finally put my troubled childhood full of control issues and power games to rest. What do you think?

    • Yes, that sounds likely. You seem to be seeing things well. I really struggled with this transit years ago. Same time as a divorse and some health issues for myself.

  20. Right now the transiting Pluto conjuct my natal mercury 8 degree Capricorn (mercury – the ruler of the 7 and 9 house). 11 months ago, several days before the first Pluto conjuction, I sent an artistic project abroad. Interesting, the artist got only one part of the project, the other and the most important is obviously and intentionaly hidden by the people around the artist. I m looking forward to send it again by the end of the year looking for other people to help me doing it. I was talking about that with an astrologer and he told me I won’t make it out because of the Pluto influence. I wonder, how it’s possible if Pluto passes over my mercury by the end of the current year? I had so many problems during 2012 with firstly secret and now open enemies (regarding the project) and my question is, does Pluto conjuctions necesarry bring failures? I must remind that the ruler of my Ascedent, Jupiter goes direct next year entering my 7 house in March. Please if you can answer me, thise project is so important…thanks

  21. Hey there Jamie, my 23 y/o daughter is currently having an extremely tough time she is very hard working in fact would keep working till she drops, but is an extremely anxious soul also and very artistic, which is obvious to me as she has saturn conj neptune natally in her 2nd house, and yep this natal conjunction is at 11 cap, pluto giving her a beating.

If you get a chance to comment on any positive potential this transit may reveal for those going thru this diabolical mess of a transit, once she survives it (yes she is feeling somewhat dramatic just now) I may be able to guide her to see what she may be able to work with in mind as encouragement. Yep us mums, especially the cancerian ones never stop being mum lol!

    • Hello Jamie!

Your daughter can be a very talented music- man if she is nataly inclined to have a career in the artistic, this could be her chance to grow potentials in a career. She may be a great dancer if Neptune or either Saturn is lord of 1st house, Sun or Moon house or sign. There is also a practical side of the conjunction, that is the meaning of the useful sacrifice, she can better her material values of life. This transit is important for her future material well and i think it will finally lead to a good end for her future, Pluto is the providential will, God is never negative result oriented in His will. Also this may indicate that her friends can be deceiving and she suffers the lost of her financial aid, in order to discover her true material values.

  22. My dad died when Pluto finished the transit over his Ascendant, he had a natal Scorpio Mars over the 12th house that mean accidental, in total isolation, helpless and unexpected death but fortunately without long painful illness.

  23. Hello Steve. After lookinng at some of the questions and comments I am assuming this site is more inter-active than those I have visited so far which is different in a good way. I was looking to get insight into thhe up coming transiting Pluto opposition to my natal Uranus which will happen around may through july of this year. Although it does look like it will be exact due to thhe station/direct, station/retrogradation of the two planets the aspect will come within one degree of orb. I see by your replies you don’t intend to comment on these aspects until having dealt with others like Pluto-Sun, Pluto-ASC and Pluto-Moon. So I would like to be informed when you are going to comment on Pluto-Uranus especially the square and the opposition. Obviously the transiting square which hits exactitiude five times between 2011 and 2016 with two of those times coming later this year will have global/generational effects however within thhis context it seems to me certain segements of the aggregate will be required to react or more consciously respond to the energies availiable when these two do their dance as they are going to in my chart later this year. I would like to say what I think is possible under this configration which for me involves Capricorn/Cancer and the 10th/4th house dynamic (with Uranus being retrograde at birth) and I would be willing to provide birth-data if it would be helpful but as I said I am looking for other insight besides my own. James Page

  24. Can you comment on Pluto conjuncting Venus? I am two thirds of the way through this transit, but what puzzles me is all the stuff I read about how Pluto intensifies things. I have been single for years, and must admit I had been looking forward to this transit (!) as an astrologer had told me it would transform my life! But so far there is no change in my life at all; I have not got involved in any new relationship, nor have I even felt attracted to anyone. None of the intense, Plutonic, compulsive stuff that I keep reading about. No sex whatsoever! I worry that I am so screwed up that even Pluto cannot help me! What is going on??

    • There could be a time delay. I use precession correction for transits and that can push Pluto transits forward more than 6 months. Otherwise, the DC or even Moon in your chart might have more influence over relationships. Is your Venus aspectsed strongly compared to DC or Moon?

      • Jamie, thanks for your reply.

My moon is in Leo (6th house) conjunct my DC. Venus is quite poorly aspected, I think – it’s in Capricorn (11th house) square Pluto and square Chiron.
I really feel I need ‘unlocking.’ Was hoping Pluto would help! Is it possible that my Pluto conjunct Venus transit might have more to do with trying to transform self-worth issues – the inner life – than with relationships in the external world?

  25. I have been reading and looking into pluto transits because I am currently facing many years of it to come! I have a capricorn stellium in my 8th house. Right now pluto is going back and forth over my natal Venus 8 deg of Cap then on to north node at 14deg then mercury and Jupiter at 23 deg and finally (if I survive) my sun at 29 degrees! I have had major financial issues which r slowly resolving (Venus) so now with my north node I am wondering what next?

  26. thank you for this interesting article!
Pluto is now transiting on my natal moon, which is in twelfth house. My natal moon is opposite jupiter, conjunct saturn and neptune and sextile pluto. Do you know what this transit could mean? i’m very worried…my mother has a cancer. My Sixth and seventh houses fall in cancer. I would be grateful if you could clear my doubts. Thank you,
    Giulia

    • Don’t worry about Neptune sextile Pluto, most of us have that. Ignore houses and it will be easier to work out. Emotional upheaval, getting a lot of unhappy feelings out, but then a positive transformation or your shyness, fears or sadness.

  27. mine is libra ascendent it has sun and mars combusted and mercury conjuct pluto 0 orbit, neptune uranus rahu in saggitarius and jupiter and venus in leo, satrun in capricon and moon ketu in gemini,is mercury conjuct pluto is dangerous…………..please help me

  29. Can I get some answer on: What are the ramifications of Transiting Pluto opposed to Natal Pluto? Which at the same time will be squaring Uranus and my Asc.?

    • I expect this will indicate a really big change in life direction which could involve your personality, relationships and spiritual outlook.

      • How could a person be old enough to hsve this transit? Sone kind of chart reading error?

  30. Hi Jamie,

    Hope you are recovering well.
Transiting Pluto is almost opposed to natal Venus (19.12 on 12th house), what kind of major life changing events should I expect? When do you usually start to notice this transit?
As Pluto is know to dig into the hidden and Venus is on 12th would it be a bad transit? … I am already having the Uranus transit opposition Pluto (19.56) coming right now and it’s the second hit ….
Any insight on this would be very much appreciated!!

    • Hi Meli. I don’t think Uranus opposite Pluto will b e felt too strongly as it is a generational transit.

The closest I have to a description of your Pluto transit is Venus square Pluto.

Houses make no difference, only AC, MC etc.

Allow one degree orb for Pluto transits, but you will be starting to feel it coming on now. Any major events will happen very close to the exact opposition. Do you use precession correction? It can make a big difference in time with Pluto transits.

      • Hi Jamie,

Thank you for your response.I have been looking at events from what you mentioned.

Uranus opposition natal Pluto was in my case close to MC/IC and events were not an easy ride. I have probably managed to get free of some family and people control issues but it was painful.

As for Pluto opposition Venus , I felt the first hit recently and it was related to clients not paying bills (a good amount ….wondering if the fact that pluto is also trine natal jupiter plays something on this ) and trying to tame advantage (could this be the Pluto side?)…plus pluto sextile natal uranus was felt as something completly unexpected ….so it seems it is affecting finances , what could I do to mitigate?

On the other hand I have a strange situation related to emotions. There is underlined tension between me and a man but he seems to do not acknowledge his feelings for me while he is very strongly attracted. How can I know if it will turn to bring balance between us or I am facing a plutonium person who is not evolved enough to accept a nurturing and balance relationship. I feel judged by him in relation to professional status and financial stability. What I can expect to learn from that? I already gave up to go for a romantic relationship as he has a too strong wandering eye tendency but it doesn’t matter how many months we don’t see each other when we meet I feel this emotional tension rising up but I can’t force him to deal with his feelings towards me. Would this transit heal , help or bring positive closure? Thanks!

        • Somebody may feel a reaction to you but this does not mean they wish to act on it. Respect his wishes. When men do not respect women’s wishes they are called rapists and stalkers so FORGET him, allow him to exercise his free will.

  31. Transiting Pluto is retrograding on my natal Venus in September (trining my natal Saturn retro). Thoughts on what might happen. I’m in kind of a one-sided love situation me being more in love lol

  32. Hi Jamie
I am heading towards two major Pluto transits next year 2017. One is the Pluto opposition ascendant transit and during the same duration Pluto square Saturn transit. What struggles should I expect to encounter under this life changing transits?? Any relief from other helpful planetary configuration during all this? I am april 2, 1982 at 12.50 pm IST.

    • I don’t get your Pluto square Saturn transit beginning until 2018. What is your place of birth or what is the degree of your Ascendant?

        • Here are the dates for Pluto conjunct DC:

          10 mar 2017
          02 jun 2017 Rx
          07 jan 2018
          30 aug 2018 Rx
          01 nov 2018

Basically felt for 18 months but will climax near to those dates.

          Pluto square Saturn transit:
          05 feb 2018
          15 jul 2018 Rx
          12 dec 2018

Although not as strong because Saturn is not as personal, this will be the more challenging year as it coincides with the transits to DC.

          • Thanks Jamie
Pluto conjunct the DSC means a major struggle in relationships, isn’t it?
Jamie relationships with the opposite sex has always been the most painful for me since the beginning.. although learning the lessons one by one, it’s always painful…
Should tighten my belt for harsh master Pluto’s lessons in the years to come.
            Thanks once again

            • In this case it is more likely going to mean struggle because of the corresponding square to Saturn. You always have to take other transits and eclipses into consideration so it might be easier at times.

  33. It always amuses me when astrologers say pluto transits last for a year to a year and a half. Having experienced the pluto/moon conjunction it is overwhelmingly obvious via conscious awareness that it’s a three year process that dominates the life. Actually as soon as it applies to 3degrees-WHACK, and separating at 3 degrees, the feeling of completion.

  34. Hi Jamie, what is the closest transit to Pluto opposite ascendant – that I can read through? Any good source you have would be highly appreciated. Thanks

  35. Hello Jamie

You don’t use houses for your interpretation so I will ask in a different manner. I am a cancer ascendant at 18°19′ and next year 2017 Pluto will be transiting Capricorn i.e. my 7th house.
People who use houses say that 7th house transit of Pluto brings karmic relationships in form of friends, enemies, love relationships which bring profound changes in life through these people. How much does it hold true???

    • Hi Tina, I do use the cardinal House Cusps Like Descendant and Midheaven. So Pluto within a couple of degrees of your Descendant is very significant. I have 18 Capricorn Ascendant so we should compare notes through next year.

      • Sure Jamie
A new relationship for you…. that would make for a lot new experiences for you next year… All the best

  36. Hola, Jaime! Happy New Year to you and your family!

According to my chart (which I calculated on Astro.com) I will be having Saturn Square Pluto from January 2017 until November 2017. It sounds pretty dire (there is mention of Saturn Sq Pluto even bringing violence) so I would love to get your perspective on the matter.

    My bday is 11/27/1968.

I’d really been hoping that Saturn was winding down and that there would be happy good things, like new love and jobs and all of that good stuff. Not more dismal Saturn lessons, with violence. : /

  37. My natal Moon is on 17 degrees in Libra, and I have a Pluto transit :((. Also Tra Saturn is squareing mu natal Saturn R4 in Pisces 29 degree. What to excpect and how to survive?
    Thanks in advance

  38. Good afternoon Jamie,

i’m afraid, because nearly december 2017 i will have pluto trine natal sun (9 house) at the same time that pluto square my natal uranus (2 house) . This year i have an ocult enemy (i knew him in 26 march 2016, and was my lover in 4 june 2017 but i was knowing him more, and i was feeling afraid, so dark, i never wanted to love him again) , and it’s taken taste os rape and murder by revenge (Karmic i think, too much 8 and 12 house)

i have dreams that he rape me and i die, with a baby inside…in others i live but i see all in court, but dificult to win (even i don’t know it ¡f it’s good that i do it if i live, and the purpose it’s clean my bad karma with the grace…) . please…can you help me?

  40. Any info on Pluto square Neptune?my dad has this transit now and is very sick 😢

  41. Hi Steve, exactly on my birthday this year, 14.october 2023 there is a solar eclipse (sun conjunct sun). During this eclipse transiting pluto in pisces is making a square with natal uranus in libra (4th house).. How is the eclipse affecting this transit? I could not find pluto transit square uranus natal? Many thanks
