Wasat Star Astrology

Fixed star Wasat has the spectral type F0, indicating the planetary nature of Mercury.

This star which joins the twins in “the middle” is associated with partnership and compromise, but also separation. It helps build bridges, forms alliances, and treaties, and leads to peace more than war.

AL WASAT. δ Geminorium. A double star, pale white and purple, situated on the right arm of the northern Twin. From Al Wasat, the Middle. Of the nature of Saturn. Connected with chemicals, poisons and gas. Violence, malevolence, destructiveness as a first principal. [1]

WASAT. δ Geminorium. A double star, one magnitude is 3.8, the other stars magnitude is 8.0; colours are yellow and blue, spectral classification: FO. This star is of a slightly negative nature and its influences should be carefully evaluated. The star imparts to its natives violence, destruction, disaster, violent actions. [2]

Al Wasat, δ Geminorum, is in the waist area of the Twins, the name meaning just that: the Middle. Ptolemy makes a Saturn type of it, so we should expect serious meaning here. It is well within the orb of influence of Castor, and visa-versa, and so adds its Saturnine weight to that star, helping to account for the heaviness and tendency to pessimism found in people with 18 – 20° of Cancer Sign active in their charts. Apart from that, however, Al Wasat does show up a quality of being able to speak with clear authority when others are waffling and prominence in public affairs or management is often the result. [3]

Fixed star Wasat rules the right side below the breast. [4]

Constellation Gemini

Ptolemy makes the following observations; the stars in the feet of Gemini have an influence similar to that of Mercury, and moderately to that of Venus; the bright stars in the thighs are like Saturn. It is said to cause trouble and disgrace, sickness, loss of fortune, affliction and danger to the knees. By the Cabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Qoph and the 19th Tarot Trump, The Sun”. [1]

Astrologers assigned to this constellation guardianship over human hands, arms, and shoulders; while Albumasar held that it portended intense devotion, genius, largeness of mind, goodness, and liberality. Considered the House of Mercury and a fortunate sign. Chinese astrologers asserted that if this constellation were invaded by Mars, war and a poor harvest would ensue. [5]

Those born within Gemini will be crafty in the good sense of the word, in all their works and in all their tasks. Among them will be writers, mathematicians, astronomers, and famous sages. They will be truthful individuals and moderate in their fear of God. In terms of children, the Gemini are specially charged with the production of twins. Gemini was given the name “many-faced” in ancient times because it denotes not only twins but three or more children at a single birth. The Gemini produces a generous and chaste personality. Individuals excelling in games and fond of philosophy and astronomy are also indicative of Gemini, as are also those who are magnanimous, munificent, and (sometimes) violent. Modern astrologers attribute the following to the Gemini: clever, intuitive, restless, heartlessness, undependability, inquisitive, lack of perseverance, and sometimes too clever. Classicists say that the Geminian follow the professions of kings, calculators, teachers, hunters, dancers, musicians, painters, and tailors. The Modernists add: journalists, novelists, lecturers, linguists, commercial travelers, and pupils. [6]

(No orb): This position affects the health. It affects family ties by bringing much anger towards parents who can be loving and nurturing. These persons lash out at those who attempt to mother them, as they definitely do not wish to be mothered but only to express pure ego. This could be the teenager who strikes a parent because they did not get what they wanted. As husbands, they physically harm their wives. Even as females, they can harm a mother or weaker husband. To get along with these persons, all that is necessary is to never offer them assistance or attempt to nurture them. Their hostile energy tends to inflame the stomach, bringing about fevers there so that they cannot eat for a day or two. Peppermint or spearmint tea would be very helpful in cooling down this energy. They wish to stay away from nurturing energies for the reason that they do not feel any warmth or affection towards their parents. They do not know why – they just know that they do not have any feelings for their parents. The tendency here is to remain unmarried and away from a nurturing relationship. These persons are unable to cry. There is a restriction in the fluids around the eyes. They do not reach any type of emotional sensitivity that would bring out tears. [4]
