The three stars of the Emperor’s Seat, northwest of the Great Horn, are the place where the emperor holds banquets and offers birthday greetings. If these stars are not seen, a high-ranking official will lose his position. [2]
Song History (1346)
The three stars of Dixi (the Emperor’s Seat), located north of Dajiao (the Great Horn), govern banquets and gift exchanges during feasts. A bright star indicates disaster for the king or nobles; a dim star signifies peace throughout the land. If a star disappears, a prominent figure loses their position; a wavering star signifies danger to the ruler. A comet’s appearance signifies worry and the possibility of rebellion. A guest star’s appearance signifies danger to the ruler. [3]
