The two stars, Dun and Wan, are southeast of Shewei (Executions), signifying the examination of prisoners and the investigation of truth and falsehood. [2]
Song History (1346)
The two stars known as Dunwan (Trials) are southeast of Shewei (Executions). They govern the examination of prisoners’ circumstances and the detection of deceit or falsehood. If these stars shine brightly, there is no cause for concern; if they appear dim, it indicates excessive or unjust punishment. Should a comet encroach upon them, a person of high rank will be cast into prison. [3]
