The 18th Chinese lunar mansion is named 昴宿 Mǎo Su, “Hairy Head Mansion.” It is the 4th of the 7 mansions of the White Tiger of the West.
The 7th asterism of the Hairy Head Mansion is called 卷舌 Juǎnshé, “Rolled Tongue.” It is shaped like a curled tongue and governs speech and strategic thinking, and reveals the presence of treacherous and slanderous individuals. It is composed of 6 stars of the constellation Perseus. [1]

Juanshe the Rolled Tongue

The Curly Tongue is one of the nineteen malevolent deities in the ancient Chinese astronomical system. It consists of six stars, with a black dot in the center of the tongue, Tianchan, the Star of Heavenly Slander. The study of star charts records: The six stars in the Milky Way are named “Tongue-Twisting Star.” [2]
Near the Pleiades are officials skilled at sowing discord and offering slanderous advice; these are known as “Tongue-Twisting Officials,” with the “Heavenly Slanderer” star particularly embodying this characteristic. [3]
The six stars of Juanshe, the Curled Tongue constellation, located north of the Pleiades and outside Tianchan, the Heavenly Slander constellation, govern speech and reveal the nature of slanderers. Zhang Heng said it governs the key to governance; if it is curved and still, virtuous people will be employed; if it is straightforward and active, slanderers will gain power. If the Curled Tongue constellation moves out of the Han River, there will be much falsehood in the world. If there are many surrounding stars, the dead will be as numerous as mountains. [4]
The Six Stars of the Curled Tongue, located north of the Pleiades, govern strategic thinking and, according to another interpretation, speech, revealing the presence of treacherous and slanderous individuals. If the star is curved and still, virtuous people will rise; if it is straight and active, many slanderers will emerge, war will break out, and the world will suffer from the harm of gossip. If it moves beyond the Han border, the world will be filled with falsehoods. Numerous stars indicate many deaths. If the Moon invades, the world will suffer many losses. If the Five Planets invade, treacherous people will be by your side. If the Comet and the Guest Star invade, courtiers will be worried. [5]
