The two stars east of Ku (哭) are called “Qi” (泣), signifying death; their brightness indicates much weeping in the country, and the same applies if they are guarded by Venus and Mars. [2]

Qì consists of two stars located east of Ku (Crying); they share the same omens as Ku. [overseeing mourning and death. If the moon, Five Luminaries, comets, or bright guest stars transit this area, it indicates mourning.] [3]
