At the bottom of the south river is Junshi (Market for Soldiers), which has thirteen stars in a circle, with a wild pheasant spirit in the middle.
The thirteen stars of Junshi, shaped like coins, are located southeast of Shen (Three Stars) and represent the market for celestial military trade. Their presence with guest stars or Venus and Mars signifies a great famine in the army. ^[2]

Song History (1346)

Junshi (Military Market) consists of thirteen stars arranged in a pattern resembling heavenly coins; it represents the marketplace for military forces, where goods and resources are exchanged. A large number of stars in the center indicate surplus military provisions; a small number indicates that the troops face hunger and scarcity.
The moon’s entry into the market signifies war and unease for the ruler. If any of the Five Planets guard Junshi for an extended time, military provisions are cut off entirely. If a guest star enters this region, assassins emerge, and generals become estranged from their troops while soldiers desert or flee. If meteors emerge from Junshi (Military Market), it signifies the departure of a great general for military campaigns. ^[3]

The star Yeji (Wild Cockerel) is located in Junshi, signifying strange and unusual events. Sharp angles and trembling indicate military disasters; movement signifies war among feudal lords. ^[2]

Yiji consists of one star located within Junshi (Military Market); it governs strange or abnormal occurrences and unpredictable events. If this star moves outside the market region, warfare erupts throughout the realm. If it remains stable and unmoving, it is an auspicious sign; if it displays sharp rays or angular features, ominous events follow. ^[3]
