There is no need to feel ashamed of your intense emotional nature; such strong emotions show how much you care for loved ones.

Don’t let other people tell you how to feel. Sinister people can appear to come out of the woodwork at times. These people seek emotionally vulnerable people to manipulate and control and steal your positive energy and self-confidence.

When you are sad, you are very sad. Your depressive periods can include crying, hopelessness, fear, jealousy, obsessiveness, and poor eye contact with others. 1. Hi Jamie–great article on Moon opposite Pluto on the natal chart. Would many of the same characteristics apply to the Moon conjunct Pluto in the natal chart? Thanks for sharing your excellent insights and knowledge.

    • Good question Sally. There are a lot of similarities with all Moon – Pluto aspects, most of all Moon conjunct Pluto. However it is only the opposition that I really notice the bipolar traits.

    • Hello, Moon opposite Pluto is just much more hard to live with, I think. But Pluto in good aspect to the Moon give intense emotions too.

  2. Hi…smile. Moon opposite Pluto natal and transit…sounds like an artist needing a medium for release. I am only comfortable with myself when I can express the deep emotions that I feel creatively and I have cultivated numerous ways in which to do this; sculpting, dance, singing, writing, gardening. It really works and if you are so inclined they can be sold for real money…lol.

    • Thank you Rose. I hope you manage OK with it. I feel sorry for older generations who had to hide their symptoms or be thrown into an asylum. I would think that Pluto has a stronger association this those evil institutions more than any other planet. Torture instead of medication, absolute loss of any control or power, banishment instead of understanding.

  3. This transit is looming ahead for me in 2019. And when Pluto does transit opposite my natal moon, it will be in the 8th house. Yikes! Any advice on what I should be doing now to prepare for such an intense encounter?

    • Hi Christina. I guess you could nurture and support the Moon related parts of your life, mom, intimate partner, home, your own vulnerable emotions. Look to any fixed stars on your Moon and aspect to your Moon for more detail.

      • Thanks Jamie. I will certainly make every effort to do as you advise. Pluto’s years traveling through my 7th house has been difficult in the extreme–like a sledgehammer blow to every intimate relationship in my life. So to say I am dreading his tour of my 8th house, the place of his most intense power, is a definite understatement.

  4. Hi Jamie, I have ;moon opposition natal Pluto transit approaching and estimated to last until 2020 🙁
However, my natal Pluto is retrograde and it is in my 10th house of Libra. What will happen to me and how to deal with it, please ?

  5. Thank you for this interesting post!
I’ve met this guy who has natal moon opposite Pluto, and he is very intense and extremely sensitive. You never know if he’s going to blow hot or cold on me… it’s killing me. I have my moon conjunct his Pluto, and my Venus inconjunct his Pluto. We also have Pluto sextile sun double whammy. His north node conjunct my IC, my north node conjunct his sun. Sun opposite sun, Venus opposite Venus… and much more going on here.
    The attraction is extreme. EXTREME!
From what I’ve read about these Pluto-connections, Pluto always has the upper hand and the Moon-Venus person is going to be dominated and even manipulated. I’m guessing I should run, but I’m totally obsessed by him so I honestly don’t think I can. Would it be stupid to get myself further into this relationship?

  6. Oh and we also have my Pluto square his Mars. His Mars on my IC, conjunct my Jupiter and his north node. The whole thing is just extremely intense.

  7. Good post about Moon opposite Pluto, which I’ve got on my natal chart and which is very hard to live with. That makes me understand this aspect better.

  8. Does having this opposition on the angles intensify things? I have a virgo Pluto in the first house, conjunct a Leo ascendant and opposite Moon on descendant. Incidentally, my Moon is conjunct Dark Moon Lilith.

    • That is definitely true Paul because you have multiple aspects involving the same planets. I think it would be fair to say you feel Moon opposite Pluto twice as strongly as someone with this aspect alone.

  9. Interesting article. I have Moon opposite Pluto natal. I don’t have bipolar but I do have borderline personality disorder, and experience extreme moods and swings. I’ve also been thrown into mental hospitals a lot; even put in psychiatric intensive care last year. They tried to put a straight jacket on me and I was in seclusion naked for hours. I also have very strong Pluto and Scorpio aspects in my chart.. I guess the stars don’t lie !

  10. Hello Jamie,
    Hope you are doing well.
Thank you for sharing so much information here on your website.
I am getting into learning about astrology and your website is great, full of information and clear.
    Thank you 🙂
I have moon (aries) opposite pluto (libra) and moon square sun (cancer) . Also my ascendant is conjunt to pluto.
I am trying to understand what it all means together and how to best work with these aspects?
    Thank you
    Warm wishes
    Anandi

  11. Are you aware that Horoscope Joy takes your insights and paraphrases them as their own?

    • Hi Tara. I just read a few aspects and it seems she has changed my work just enough to get away with it. So annoying! But a lot of other copy and paste without changing anything.

  12. Moon square Pluto natal and without fail, every time transit Moon is hard aspect my Pluto some bitch is in my face. Usually they’ll be Scorpios or have Sun Pluto, sometimes Scorpio Venus. Like clockwork! I shoot them down immediately because I know they’re just there trying to start shit. Moon opposite my Pluto today brought me here.

  13. Indeed Jamie, I was married to a man who’s family was filled with “mental illness”. After studying astrology (both daughters charts) come to find out they both have Pluto opposite Moon Natal. Younger one was diagnosed Bipolar at age 13 ~ quit meds at 17, highly functioning non medicated (uses counseling often). I have found my older daughter difficult to be around as her choice of conversations is about purchasing “things” or judgemental of others :(, uses counseling often…but her behavior never changes (now 37).
Thank you for all you do ~ I reference your educational posts often.

  14. Great 🙂 thx but i wd assume you mean borderline disorder.
Bipolar is a mood disorder that can be treated medicaly since its a chemical imbalance in the brain….
Borderline is a personality disorder with emotions intensified to the max since they are prone to experience instability in identity/ mood, relationships everything.
Bipolar has a lot to do with merc or moon contacts to jupiter at the same time to saturn or uranus. There are contradicting influences… this is food for thought….

  15. Obviously this comment was a long time ago. You must be reading something incorrectly though. The moon doesn’t transit anything for 3 years. Pluto transiting your moon may last for a year and a half but very rarely 3 years. So I’m not sure what you mean. I hope you figured it out!

  16. You’ve probably had continuance of this relationship since this comment. Six years! But this kind of a chart overlay is EXTREMELY karmic. No, you can’t get away from it. It’s going to do its transformational work and there’s no way around it. Pluto is supposed to offer rebirth and regeneration as a part of his work, so I hope that for you.
