Protests against the severe economic conditions in Iran began in Tehran on December 28, 2025. Since then, the demonstrations have spread and evolved into a broader anti-government movement.

The current conjunction of the Sun, Venus and Mars has been causing havoc around the world and is responsible for the escalation of protests in Iran, but there are other longer-term factors at play as well.

Even if the protests are repressed or their intensity subsides, the long-term outlook points to a major turning point in March 2026.

Iran Astrology Chart

The astrology chart for Iran I find most accurate is set for the moment Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Tehran on February 1, 1979. The biwheel chart below shows transits on the outside, to the Iran horoscope on the inside.

The Sun, Venus, and Mars conjunction is square Pluto in the Iranian horoscope. Although this triple conjunction already peaked in intensity around January 10, its impact on the Iran astrology chart is extended for one week because the 3rd Quarter Moon on January 10 (20♎25) is conjunct Iran’s Pluto. With precession correction, the orb for this conjunction is 0°33′. 

The Sun, Venus, and Mars conjunction brought irritation, impatience, defensiveness, anger, resentment, subversion, impulsive reactions, volatility, violence, fire, protests, rioting, destruction, conflict and war.

In mundane astrology, Pluto rules wealth, power, crisis, the masses, mass movements, global organizations, dictators, nuclear energy and weapons, corruption, organized crime, underground movements, espionage, lawlessness, murder, abductions, atrocities, revolutionary upheavals, terrorist activities, and global wars.

Long Term Transits

Saturn square Venus transit from April to December 2025 was a major source of harship for Iran. This affected women’s rights, diplomacy, peace negotiations, finance and the value of the Rial. The final pass was on December 31, 2025.

Pluto opposite Jupiter transit from April 2025 to December 2026 is the long-term source of problems for Iran. The third of these five dates is January 31, 2026.

This places intense pressure on the Iranian Government and leadership because, in mundane astrology, Jupiter rules the state religion. Religion is the State in Iran.

This transit is acting to destroy, or at the very least, transform, the religious government, the judicial system, the nation’s wealth, banks, universities, and the elite. Foreign enemies of Iran are acting to undermine the government.

There is a risk that the leadership will become overconfident, extreme, and ruthless, acting regardless of law and morals.

The January 31 transit is the most dangerous to the Iranian government because it comes just after the triple conjunction. For the remaining two Pluto opposite Jupiter transits, it will be easier for the government to reform because of the Pluto sextile Ascendant transit from April 2026 to December 2027. Such are the benefits of natal Jupiter trine Ascendant.

March 2026 is a Turning Point

March 3, 2026: Lunar Eclipse at 12♍54, conjunct Iran’s Saturn (0°24′). This could indicate harship and restriction. It could adversely affect agriculture, worsen the drought, bring disasters, increase debt and cause bankruptcies. However, it could also mean new foundations for future stability and security.

March 15, 2026: Saturn square Midheaven transit (1 of 1) is a bad omen for the leadership, stability, national trade, employment, and Iran’s reputation. 

March 17, 2026: Saturn trine Jupiter transit (1 of 1) indicates steady growth, increasing wealth, stability, law and order, and perhaps even improving foreign relations.

March 31, 2026: Saturn conjunct Ascendant transit (1 of 1) can be a positive or a negative influence. However, Jupiter trine Ascendant in the Iranian astrology chart suggests a positive outcome.

This could be a culmination of years of harship for the people of Iran due to internal repression, external economic warfare, and military provocation.
