Neptune passed back and forth, back and forth, opposite my natal Sun from about 2001 to 2004. During this time, my whole life dissolved.
I was forced into early retirement and all the financial plans I’d made just didn’t quite fit with my new situation.
Looking back, I can see that many of my reactions during that time were rather muddle-headed. And I think I was karmically meant to be where I am now, and just didn’t make adequate plans for it all.
Eventually, just when I had the time to finally fix up my dream home, I had to sell it. Got a very good price for it, though.
I made a new friend who turned out not to be who he seemed. He told a lie about me to a group of acquaintances, and to my shock and disbelief they believed him and not me. So my social life disintegrated to a degree as well. Long-standing friendships were dissolved by deaths, too.
Spiritually, I felt I made huge progress. And my irritation with people who got their aggressive / assertive reactions mixed up FINALLY taught me to stand up for myself – quietly and calmly.
I feel like having the sun opposite a planet is like having the sign rules by that planet as an ascendant except you get more of that sign’s negative traits …

Jamie, I have natal Sun (28.38 degrees Pisces) opposition Neptune (3 degrees Libra). And now transit Sun is conjunct my natal Neptune. I sleep a lot, am vaguely fearful and somehow hopeful, and I cannot touch alcohol for fear of a loss of balance. I have never noticed this transit before. I’d like it to be gone, for there is also a creepy edge to it. Is this weird?

I dated a guy with sun and mercury opposite his Neptune, and he was very deceptive. Would weave stories together with me, his friends, family. I think all to avoid conflict or disappointing people, but it often made things much worse than if he’d been honest. Would ghost a lot too.
Another guy I know has mercury opposite Neptune without the sun and he’s manipulative and avoids hard convos but his sun is positioned well. I think for the former guy it’s challenging to have both your sun and how you think in total alignment opposite Neptune. Must be very confusing.
