Full Moon 23 November 2018 – Temper Temper!

Full Moon November 2018 AstrologyThe full moon on Friday November 23, 2018 at 0° Gemini in the Pleiades Star Cluster. The Full Moon November 2018 astrology is also influenced by the planetary aspect Mars square Jupiter. This can make you feel strong, brave and sexy but also angry and frustrated. The danger is that impulsive and reckless actions could lead to accidents or injuries.

The November 2018 full moon in the Pleiades increases the risk of losing your temper and becoming cruel and ruthless. The keys to avoiding pain, loss and sorrow are patience and forethought. While irritation and frustration may prove difficult to avoid, you can release the hot full moon energy safely using self-control and moderation.

Full Moon Meaning

A full moon occurs when the Sun is opposite the Moon. This highlights opposing forces or polarities in your life such as your work versus home, or what you need versus what you want. Inner tension and external pressures can lead to personal conflict and crises that drain your energy. Your home, family and intimate relationships comes into sharper focus following a full moon.

The lunar qualities of emotions and instincts reach their peak at a full moon. Use you increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome any relationship challenges. Subconscious awareness allows for an impartial and balanced look at your personal relationships. You will clearly see any relationship dynamics or negative feelings causing disharmony.`

A full moon has a relationship to the previous new moon. Your November 7 new moon goals can now be fine-tuned or completed, it is harvest time. You can make emotional adjustments in response to those new goals. Full moon November 2018 lasts for two weeks up to the December 7 new moon.

Full Moon November 2018 Astrology

The November 23 full moon has a nasty feel to it because of the planetary aspects and fixed stars. The full moon square Mars brings bitterness and anger for the next two weeks. An opposition to Jupiter amplifies this confrontational energy.

The Moon at 00°52′ Gemini Sign is on the same degree as Alcyone, the central star of the Pleiades Star Cluster. The Pleiades bring love and peace when well placed. However, square Mars and opposite the Sun and Jupiter is far from being well placed.

Full Moon Aspects

Full Moon square Mars brings simmering anger to the surface so take care to avoid being hurt or causing harm. There is danger when taking risks or acting impulsively. However, holding in anger and frustration is not healthy either. Repressed anger can manifest physically as pain in your body, accidents, aggressive reactions in others, or as conflict in your home. There will probably be some degree of emotional discomfort in close relationships, especially with women.

They key to handling this quick and hot energy is to release your frustrations in a controlled way. If you have annoyed someone else, don’t be overly defensive or mean when they share their feelings with you. Cuts or burns, especially in the kitchen, would suggest you have not dealt with your emotional troubles. Face what is making you feel threatened with courage. Emotional attacks from others are just as likely as you losing your temper with a loved one.

Moon opposite Jupiter is likely to cause lack self-control and unwanted attention. It can make you less guarded about your feelings and private life, which can leave you vulnerable to interfering mothers, moral crusaders and even the public. This full moon will be more problematic if you already have difficulty with self-control or addiction. You may react to others people’s possessive or jealous behaviour by subconsciously falling into negative habits and behaviors.

Mars square Jupiter can make you feel energetic and sexy but can also make you impulsive and tactless. It gives the courage to take on adversaries if you feel threatened but a defensive approach is best. This is not a good full moon for going on the attack, especially without provocation. Without forethought and strategy, rash actions could lead to embarrassment, accidents or injuries. Finally, moderate your energy output to avoid physical or emotional exhaustion.

Fixed star Alcyone at 00 ♊ 15 is the main star of the Pleiades in Taurus Constellation. It has a strongly feminine influence and its rising has always been linked to homosexuality in men:

They adopt feminine dress, footwear donned not for wear but for show, and an affected effeminate gait. They are ashamed of their sex; in their hearts dwells a senseless passion for display, and they boast of their malady, which they call a virtue. To give their love is never enough, they will also want their love to be seen. [1]

If well-connected, the Pleiades bring love and eminence, making people ambitious, optimistic and peaceful. They give many journeys and voyages, success in agriculture and through active intelligence. [2] They are especially indicative of events that affect the family and family life. [3]  The Pleiades can raise people to high position with preferment, honor and glory. [4] Even if ‘afflicted’, they make for an excellent counselor to others in the time of bereavement. [5]

However, the full moon conjunct Alcyone is not well-connected. Ptolemy assigned the planetary nature of the Moon and Mars to Alcyone, just like the tempestuous aspect it activates. The Pleiades can cause injuries to the eyes and face and even blindness, especially when in harsh aspect to Mars. [4] Alcyone brings deep sorrows, tragedies and bereavement. [5] It can make people cruel, ruthless and promiscuous. Hostility from other, fall from power, disgrace and violence are also possible.

Celebrities with Alcyone in their natal chart include Adele (Mercury), Rudy Giuliani and Nigel Farage (Venus), Elon Musk (Saturn), Woody Allen (MC), Justin Bieber (DC) and Angelina Jolie (PoF and South Node). If the Full Moon November 2018 astrology chart directly impacts your horoscope decan you can read about it in your monthly horoscope. 1. Conjunct saturn ruler of 6 house, opposite neptune in 5 – ruler of 9. Trine pluto in 3 house – ruler of 5. Hm, say something??:)

  2. Really? “They adopt feminine dress, footwear donned not for wear but for show, and an affected effeminate gait. They are ashamed of their sex; in their hearts dwells a senseless passion for display, and they boast of their malady, which they call a virtue. To give their love is never enough, they will also want their love to be seen. [1]”

I don’t care if this a historical quote, its obnoxious. Some things are banished to the dustbin of history for a reason. Cross-dressing has no direct relation to gay men, though some engage in it. And malady my posterior.

    • Yes things have changed a lot since then but only relatively recently and only in some parts of the world. But the main point is still the same, that Alcyone can have a effeminate influence on men with it strong in their charts.

      • The point is it’s an obviously offensive quote and you are being to callous to hear people who are communicating to you bravely that it is causing harm. The only appropriate action is to apologize and remove it and not perpetrate it again! Get with the times or get left in the dust.

        • I’m bi-pan and nonbinary. If people can’t interpret historical texts in their proper context that doesn’t fit the modern day, that is a problem of their level of education. My mother is a History teacher and an important word in her expertise is ‘anachronism’. We should not adapt judgment of yore to now and not adapt judgment of now to yore. You can analyze the philosophy and the social relationships of back then and see how they were unfair even at that time to your heart’s content, but you cannot make an analysis based on the language and concepts of a social movement that only articulated itself in recent years. The harm in this is not the fault of people who perpetuate ancient knowledge, but of the social structures that still exist from the same hierarchy that we’ve had for Millennia and were inherited. We should problematize it when we find it, but to say that Jamie intrinsically belongs to them because he offers us content as-is is asinine: no individual carries the whole weight of the world, and your belief that individual actions affect power structures is neoliberal stupidity rather than real leftism or social justice struggle. Thanks.

            • Fascinating but, unfortunately, predictable responses to that quote. The trap you didn’t fall into is self-censoring before publishing it. Well done. And I’m a gay man btw.

    • The astrological influences are catalytic energies and the quote is a trigger, not only currently, but also through other lives.
So the energies stir up unhealed, stored and stuck patterns, making them available for releasing and wisdom.
That’s what they are designed to do.
The whole thread is a great demo of the beauty of this process.

So, when you have an emotional trigger, the art is to notice it’s happening in less than ten seconds, don’t take the bait and get sucked into the obsession, go into observer, it is what it is, feel into the energies, breathe, let them move, and let it go.

None of the content has anything to do with who you are now.

    • We should just burn all old texts that don’t agree with our ‘modern’ view, though that view is singular & not as a group, so whatever you think is probably best for everybody else. Its a 2000 year old quote. Actually we should burn the homophobic bible while we’re at it, talk about cultural programming!

  3. This is ridiculous. It’s 2018 and you’re still defending the publication of homophobic content? this quote is obviously homophobic and derogatory towards the feminine expression in men: “donned not for wear but for show..”, “They are ashamed of their sex…” , “in their hearts dwells a senseless passion for display..”, “they boast of their malady, which they call a virtue…”

To defend the use of this quote is ridiculous and IN NO WAY is the main point of this quote that Alcyone is a feminine influence: the main point is OBVIOUSLY that the feminine influence of Alcyone is a MALADY.

Don’t even pretend that the interpretation is anything other than negative towards the expression of femininity in the masculine body. It just shows at best your callous disregard for actually reading and understanding the interpretations you are re-printing, and at worst, an intentionally homophobic interpretation of energy and its expression in the human form.

I’m tired of your generation of astrologers — adamantly upholding the patriarchal interpretation of universal energy to the detriment of others and of your own practice in an age where these ignorant beliefs are obviously being transformed and abolished. To subscribe to such limiting ideals of gender expression and sexuality is limiting to your own practice and ability to guide others. It’s 2018– either unlearn all of this ridiculous cultural programming, or fade away into the twilight of bigotry.

      • “to make you happy?” You just got called out very validly, and that is your way of showing grace and apologizing for blatent homophobia? Shame them for speaking up? You should be ashamed of yourself and I will be finding someone more progressive and less Patriarchal to look up astrology from. Take down the damn quote.

        • and thank you very much … you’re right, go … it’s going to be the best for us in the Astrology King … and the quote should stay … you’re not the hub of the universe … you can give orders at your place … here you are a guest … and stop demanding …

        • Deer Prunus on – you are a bully. You also have no powers of discernment. You remind me of the quote from a red neck comedian, “You can’t fix stupid”.

      • To respond with a call to “burn all the old astrology texts” sounds like a logical fallacy, shot from the hip. Why not try to reach for understanding and expanding your worldview to encompass what readers are trying to tell you? I really appreciate you retrieving and citing this rare and ancient source, just I appreciate their calling out its homophobic bias.

  4. I appreciate these articles so much. Thank you. Please keep at it they’re wonderful

  5. Jamie, I’ve followed your site ever since I first came across it, having immediately recognized the quality of your work. But I only registered today in order to show my support, after reading these absolutely absurd attacks against you. Keep on doing what you’re doing; you provide a valuable service for those who are willing to look, listen, and learn.

Perhaps in the future, you could write a post about any of the longer term, powerful astro influences that seem to be driving our societies into these silly conflicts, all while far more significant problems surround us. My own research does not suggest a very positive outcome over the next few years, but then again, all I’m really certain of is more turmoil and turbulence.

I expect this full moon and Mercury retro period to be very interesting. Thank you for your work and patience.

    • Thank you so much. Yes I have been thinking about the astrological reasons for the crazy polarity we have seen in recent years. Maybe the Jupiter – Saturn – Pluto conjunctions will reset things, hopefully.

  6. yes that’s right considering homosexuality a natural expression of aspects in a chart (malefic or benefic is NOTGOOD vs BAD btw) is homophobic especially when it was authored to text even an utterance of it’s existence would have you burned at worst and ostracized at best. and FYI condescending troll that lashes out at any one The GREEKS invented HOMOEROTICISM and perfected ASTROLOGY. Yes be clear being homosexual or pro lbgtq does make you forward thinking and empathetic but NOT authoritatively educated.

  7. Temper, temper! There is no homophobic agenda here, as you would see if you read the articles regularly, which have exquisitely detailed referencing. Your perception is coloured by your personal experiences (or perhaps US culture?), which are not representative of all other homosexuals’ experiences elsewhere. I stopped being offended by every little undiplomatic comment a few years after leaving the US. Life is too short.

  8. Here’s an academic question: if a person’s chart has Jupiter at 28 degrees of Taurus (i.e. conjunct Algol) in the third house, does this form a kind of “bridge” to the upcoming full moon (0 degrees of Gemini) that would enhance the creative influence of the natal Jupiter/Algol? This conjunction squares the person’s ascendant.
