Tarandus vel Rangifer, the Reindeer,
a small and faint asterism between Cassiopeia and Camelopardalis, was formed by Pierre Charles Le Monnier, under the title Renne, as a memento of his stay in Lapland when engaged in geodetic work in 1736. It has seldom been figured, and now is never mentioned. [3]
