Haedus I Astrology

Haedus I (ζ-Aur), with its double spectra, is one of the few stars with a true double nature. In this instance, the star has the nature of both Jupiter and Mars (high ambition, pride, love of power, grandeur of view.) In classical times it had a bad reputation, especially among mariners who dreaded its presaging the storms on the Mediterranean. [1]

Ptolemy said the bright stars in Auriga are like Mars and Mercury (high enterprise, combative, destructive.) [2]

A time of unpredictability and no certain outcomes. A waiting period is warranted before any action is taken. You may be tempted to take shortcuts, but these will ultimately pay no dividends. This calm stagnant energy allows for a better future by giving time when needed. Sometimes a pause can bring momentum with giant leaps forward to achieving your goals.

If this star is showing in your natal chart regardless of position, it has a strong influence. It is, in essence, a metaphysical teacher, alerting one to the unseen and unimagined. Creativity, inspiration, and aspiration are on their way after a period of dullness. The spiritual message is to allow your soul to dance once again to the rhythms of the universal flow. Business projects and new partnerships lead your focus in the near future. [3]

Constellation Auriga

The constellation is said to give self-confidence, interest in social and educational problems, and happiness, but the danger of great vicissitudes. The native is fond of country life and may be a teacher or have the upbringing of young people. [2]

Auriga is one of the most fortunate constellations in the sky, but it may still portend earthquakes if situated unfortunately as regards a solar eclipse. [1]

4th Arabic Manzil – Al-Dabaran

Causes the destruction and hindrances of buildings, fountains, wells, and gold mines, the flight of creeping things, and begets discord.

With Moon: Pursue business, travel, marry and take medicine.

19th Chinese Xiù – 畢 (Bì) Net

The Net includes Aldebaran and the Hyades cluster. Both the Hyades and the Pleiades were regarded as the mesh of a hunting net. Hunting forays in the old days of China were used as much for military exercises and training as they were to rid the land of vermin or to gather food. Hence, this mansion governs hunting, wealth (as a result of a good hunt), outlaws, deserters and traitors, as well as trouble at the frontiers (border disputes and the like).

It is good for construction, funerals, and weddings. Burials on this day confer honor to the deceased. Building brings fortune. Children born of a marriage performed on this day will live to 100 years.

When rising, Haedus I and its companion Haedus II indicate a native who may be petulant and lascivious, one who is said to be involved in depraved and vicious desires. If other factors in the chart confirm these stars, the native’s whole appearance to others may be that of a lie, of a person who promises one thing but hides another thing in his heart. [1]
