Junnanmen Astrology
Fixed star Junnanmen has the spectral type B7 + B9, indicating the planetary nature of Jupiter and to a lesser extent, Venus.
SPECTRAL CLASS B: A fondness for power, great authority, the ability to command, martial honors, kingly preferment, victory over enemies, liberality, and cosmopolitan views. High honors, wealth, and renown are possible. It also suggests a higher spiritual nature, but few can respond. [4]
JUPITER-VENUS: Contented, happy disposition, honorable, philosophical mind, legal or ecclesiastical preferment, help through women. If rising or culminating, honor and riches. [5]
Jun Nan Men star is located southwest of Da Jiang Jun and northeast of Kui Su. Jun Nan Men is the south gate of the northern army camp. The army and logistics supplies entered the camp on the front lines after exiting Jun Nan Men. [6]
Ma Duanlin (1317)
Above Kui is the constellation of the army at the south gate. The single star known as Jun Nanmen (Southern Gate of the Army) lies southwest of the “General” star (Tian Dajiangjun) and governs the monitoring of entry and exit; if it wavers, the army is on the move; if it disappears, military chaos follows. [7]
Song History (1346)
Junnanmen (The Southern Gate of the Army) is located south of the Tian Da Jiang Jun (Great General of Heaven) asterism; it serves as the southern gate for that figure. It governs the monitoring of comings and goings. If the star is dim, foreign nations will rebel; if it wavers, warfare will erupt; if it shines brightly, distant lands will come to offer tribute. [8]
Constellation Andromeda the Chained Woman
02♈31 to 24♉37
ANDROMEDA. The Chained Woman.
Legend. Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus, king of Æthiopeia, and Cassiopeia. In consequence of Cassiopeia’s boast that the beauty of Andromeda surpassed that of the Nereids, Neptune sent a sea monster (CETUS) to lay waste to the country, and promised deliverance only on condition that Andromeda were offered as a sacrifice to it. She was accordingly chained to a rock, but was discovered and released by Perseus, who, riding through the air on Pegasus, slew the monster by turning it to stone with the Medusa’s Head and claimed Andromeda as his bride.
Influence. According to Ptolemy the influence of this constellation is similar to that of Venus, though the legend would lead one to suppose some connection with Virgo. It is said to bestow purity of thought, virtue, honor and dignity upon its natives, but to cause battle with chimerical fears and a tendency to become easily discouraged. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Pé and the 17th Tarot Trump, The Stars. If Mars afflicts the luminaries from Andromeda, and especially if in an angle, it causes death by hanging, decapitation, crucifixion or impalement.
Magical. Gives love between husband and wife and reconciles adulterers. [5]
Tetrabiblos asserts that the bright stars of this constellation are of the nature of Venus, and so is its brightest star. It is a generally favorable constellation denoting that which is honorable and eminent. Poorly placed, however, it can portend earthquakes, and in the Middle Ages was said that Mars in this constellation, in aspect with the Sun, caused death by crucifixion or hanging. [9]
