Fixed Star Schedir Astrology

Fixed star Schedir is the main star of Alpha Cassiopeia, and has a Saturn nature, lessened by Venus. (slovenly, very immoral, shameless, revolting, mean, sorrows in love. If rising, good-tempered, healthy, gain by industry and marriage. If culminating, improved health, fame by help of superiors.)

This fixed star incorporates serious demeanor with joi se vivre. Should good living transgress reasonable limits the results will be disadvantageous. The Arab name Sader means “bosom of Cassiopeia”. This star is not really considered unlucky, but a certain amount of demonic power seems to be ascribed to it, critical results must be ascribed to Hamal which is only 8′ distant. [1]

Schedir Star, Alpha Cassiopeiae [www.daviddarling.info]

Schedir in most spellings is a mishandling of the emphatic Arabic S in Al Sadr, the Breast. It lies at the more acute apex of a large W in the sky which represents the Queen on her throne. There is no Ptolemaic classification for any of her stars, surprising for such a clearly visible figure, but this may be because of Schedir’s near-conjunction with Hamal of Aries. The Queen’s capacity for disastrous bombast suggests the same Mars-Saturn simile we find with Hamal, save for the generous gratitude she showed then to Perseus, so Mars-Jupiter seems the best likeness. The man or woman with this star strong may have great qualities to rule over others, but should beware of letting it go to his/her head. [2]

The ancients believed that Schedir was a signification of makers of jewelry and those who earn their livelihood from the arts, especially as fine craftsmen. [3]

Constellation Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia is of the nature of Saturn and Venus. It is said to give haughtiness, boastfulness and exaggerated pride, but at the same time the power of commanding respect. [4]

1st Arabic Manzil – Al-Sharatain

Causes discords and journeys.

With Moon: Buy cattle, plant and take voyages.

16th Chinese Xiù – 婁 (Lóu) Bond

The rites and sacrifices of harvest. A general theme of thanksgiving. This Chinese lunar mansion governs harvest, feasting, gatherings, choirs, and orchestras. It is a good day for feasting and gatherings, construction, the digging of trenches, opening of watercourses, and unveiling monuments.

Weddings arranged on this day will produce children that will bring wealth to the family. Associated with friendship, pleasures, harmony, wealth, good health and longevity.

  1. Hi Jamie. I’m enjoying your posts lately. This one starts out with a big typo, though. It should read:
“The fixed star Schedir, at 7 degrees TAURUS in the Zodiac…” not Scorpio.
Thanks for all the hard work.

  2. I have Schedir conjunct venus at 1 degree. square asc -1 degree. Trine moon 2 degrees. Can I get some interpretations? runa tresno. may 8 1992. fort lauderdale, florida. (holy cross hospital) 12:11 pm

  3. You might be right.. This star is conjunct Uranus for an event chart of the murder of a beautiful, intelligent young girl I’m delineating just now. (Uranus is significant in the chart bc it’s also conjunct the 4H and the contrascion of the man who shot her)
