I was wondering..my daughter who is 14 years old , DOB: September 27, 1996 at 22:38 London, UK….has so many planets in this area..Her Sun is 5 Libra, Pholus 4 Libra and her North Node 7 Libra all in the 5th, she is Cancer Rising 3 degrees, also in opposition in the 11th house is Saturn in Aries 3 degrees,South Node conjunct in Aries, and Jupiter in Capricorn 8 degrees in the 7th! There are more planets in Libra and Aries but they are out of orb for this…she is my only child and I am a single parent, just us two and the cat! She is a gifted artist, many talents and does very well in school..I can’t help but wonder what this would mean for her?? I am an Aries 16 degrees,her Moon is 15 Aries… along with all my other Cardinal Planets, and hers, are all out of orb for this one…for now… but as a parent yourself…what do you think of this for her? Good question Shawn. My 8 year old girl has Sun at 7 Cancer so is startng to feel the opposition. I think for young ones it’s going to show as power struggles with parents and teachers. I’ve seen this ramping up with my daughter already, trying to assert her will, manipulate to get her own way. She has started having problems with her teacher, even some close friends. At this age they are trying to forge their unique identity. Peer pressure would be stronger with this transit I think, or they would feel it stronger.
For my girl the Sun is me as dad, the authority figure at home, so I am trying to tread the fine line between being strict and letting her develop her independence. For your girl, you may also represent the Sun in her chart, because even though the Sun is traditionally the father, in single parent homes it is the authority figure.
I would be getting very familiar with flower essences all kinds–Bach was the first–many followed. The teen years are very ‘moon’ we as parents should do as much as possible to make the most of this precious growing and healing time. Thanks Jamie, it is true there have been issues of independence, the age of 14 (half a Saturn cycle) is the rebellion age…and then the need for friends vs. the need or advice of a parent..she listens to them but not me! I have to say that there is a huge difference between age 8 and age 14 (wait and see 😉 and then with the transits influence! But I hear you!! The one bug a boo for me is that Pluto…ok, it has crossed her 7th house a while back..this brought in the first boyfriend who is a (uh hum!) a bit of a geek, also 14, loves all the geeky stuff she loves, too….and it is all innocent, as I see it, how then will that Jupiter in her 7th house be when Pluto is conjunct it? Since Jupiter is in its detriment in Capricorn anyway…and it is 8 degrees natally…Pluto being 6 degrees now? Just wonder what this means for her? (I have Jupiter conjunct Pluto natally in my 7th in Leo..a different kettle of fish but still I can’t help wondering!) Thanks so much for this article! Pluto is just beginning to square my Sun-Pluto opposition at 9 Aries (Sun) – 12 Libra (Pluto) from the fifth house. It sure doesn’t help that at the same time, Uranus is going to catch up and conjunct my Sun in a relatively short time! O_O
I wonder if all of this energy will ultimately discharge into the 11th house, or if all of the matters from the succedent houses will be greatly affected? So, it’s been a year and I just wanted to touch base by sharing my experience thus far with last year’s July 1 ecipse and this Pluto-Sun transit.
The day following the eclipse (directly square my sun) my husband’s continuous betrayal and drug addiction came to a head. He completed rehab and we attended marriage counseling over the next six months, our seven-year relationship finally becoming solid as his sobriety and integrity endured. He found stable employment for the first time in years, which allowed me to stay home with our two young children – and pursue our music career (Pluto is transiting 5th house). None of this was easy, indeed, it was turbulent, difficult, and exhausting – but it was steady progress. As Pluto has squared my Sun twice now, each time it became exact, my car broke down and required very expensive repairs, rendering me entirely dependent on him financially (Sun in 8th house…). I have never been dependent on anyone financially. It’s been very much about choosing my battles, and surrendering the financial control to my spouse.
What a pivotal year this is. Oh, and that “stand up and be counted” thing? Such truth. This week I have found myself thrust right out there in the middle of a government issue I must vehemently fight for. I HAVE to take a stand, I have no choice in the matter. My Jupiter return is this weekend, and Uranus is ever so close to conjunction with my sun. I know I must be careful how I take a stand, being that Jupiter is the law, and all….

While this particular transit will not happen for me for some time yet (I have Scorpio Sun), I know of people that experienced a death of a sibling (Sun ruling the 3rd house), loss of a business due to betrayal, a beginning of recovery from addictions, etc. So the transit often seems to represent significant challenges that could wipe you out unless faced squarely (couldn’t resist the pun!) but would yield much reward in the form of renewed identity.

I had this Pluto square Sun transit about 4 years ago and expereinced similar things to what your friends went though. Lost employement and partner through betrayal, and then also went through through an addiction recovery. Sure had to face up to those issues. Interesting about the addiction side with the compulsive and obsessive nature of Pluto. I really was forced to face up to these issues, but if I had not my life now would be totally miserable. Instead, I’m doing better now than ever before and I do believe it is thanks to this transit forcing me to address was was not working in my life, the Sun issues of self esteem, personal power and authority.

Well this is a very powerful example of Pluto square Sun. Very moving too and I hope you get somewhere with this investigation. So very Pluto, death, big faceless governement, probing, secrecy, lies, investigation. I actually think that Pluto square your Sun around 2008-2009 would have made you strongly identify this issue with your own identity and goals, your quest.
But now you see Pluto square IC is taking this even deeper. The IC being your family roots, genes, your foundation. Ovbviously, with Pluto also square MC this is becoming a strong calling, you’re feeling compelled to deal with this issue. It’s not easy, you have to push hard and face obstacles with the bureaucracy. Regardless of the result of the investigation, at least I expect it will be very healing for you and your family. Jamie – this is better than therapy! I’ve already posted my experience of this transit on the other Pluto threads; would the transit opp IC be similar to your advice above? for me it was in 2009, when my father was dying, but I got to spend time talking to him, learnt a lot about his side of the family,and took on the task of recording his memories. I also became closer to my much older siblings and, having been passed over as the baby all my life, gained a voice and some respect, and there were some battles with authority figures in the form of health professionals. Difficult but rewarding time, and am now kind of absorbing my father, his influence, genes and secrets.
If only more psychologists did like Jung and read up on astrology! That’s right about Pluto opposite IC being similar to Pluto conjunct IC, I think anyway. Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference when you get transits to the axis’ like AC/DC and MC/IC, even the lunar nodes. If one end is affected then so is the other. With your dad, there is even a lot of debate about whether it is the MC or IC which represent the father or mother.
Lady Gaga (March 28) is also experiencing this transit. Can you add her to the list? Because you can most definitely see the ego change in her.

Does it still apply with say 1.32 deg/min in Aries (sun) and from the 5th house to Pluto in the 2nd with T Pluto opposing Mars in Cancer in the 8th and what is your take on this? I think you feel Pluto transits stronger as they are applying from about 2 degrees orb. When it’s leaving I think about 1 degree past then the effects would be wearing off, at least the intensity and stress. With this Sun at 1 Aries then things would have started easing up late last year. That is heavy duty with natal Sun opposite Mars being hit by transiting Pluto. Mars/Pluto can be destructive.
Yes Pluto went over my Mars at 26 Sag a few years ago and I was nearly killed. I’m still trying to recover and now Pluto is squaring my moon/sun at 12/13 Aries. I’ll be invincible or in coffin soon. I’m betting on invincible. I think I have Hercules conjunct my sun.

I remember Pluto square my sun as the end of a beautiful era …events followingthe assasination of Indira Gandhi meant that commonwealth people with long term stay available in India either had to take up Indian citizenship or leave. Anyway somewhere on here someone mentioned T/PLuto on the IC being similar to T/Pluto on the MC…but what would one make of T/Pluto approaching conjunction to the MC- trine natal Pluto 5th, but in a TSquare with T/ Lilith and T/ Uranus conjunct the ASC opp T/ Saturn exact conjunction to DESC conjunct Vesta???!!! A padded room. (Eeek!) maybe or go “bring it…I can handle anything!” Or is that too “asking” for it! I have a stellium in Virgo (Jup 17 48; Pluto 22 40; Sun 22 45 and Uranus 29 10) so have just finished one decade of change that has been a powerful roller coaster ride characterised by periods of self employment, break up of a relationship, death of both parents and transiting from male to female. So yes, Pluto and I are old acquaintances.
That my moon is at 0 32 Cancer and has been harassed by Saturn AND Pluto in recent years, Chiron in Aries, not to mention my Venus/MC/Mercury conjunct in Libra, opposite Saturn in Aries (which is the focal point of a Yod from Sun/Pluto and Neptune) – I should say there is quite a bit more to come!

to elaborate…having lived through Pluto opposite, trine and square (touch wood) sun, in hindsight, the trine was where I built up some dangerous illusions both positive and negative about life, love and lead paint. I met the man of my dreams (not)and found the house of my dreams and was completely in thrall to lifestyle magazines and paint finishes. worst of all were the loss of self, the panic attacks and crushing fear of death. Fortunately, the square transit has dismantled it all, and i feel free of those particular illusions. it’s as though the trine was where the skittles were set up, and the square where the bowling ball struck. …..seems anything Pluto touches gets the ‘treatment’, though the complexity of accompanying aspects also invariably give shape to how it manifests, and I would say that this can also mean aspects in the charts of significant others as they tie in to our own – here is an example….
Pluto squ MC/IC axis shakes our ‘world-tree’, through which our deepest source of personal power and its highest expression find form in the world, and this can be very visceral – but, it seems that how it expresses outwardly to assist bringing about that big shake-down within can also be shockingly manifested through the lives of significant others – in the run-up to my own Pluto squ MC my former partner had come through a complete recovery from cancer (Pluto squ her moons nodes, her NN conjunct my IC), a process that changed us both and helped us seperate but move forward in very good way, becoming great support to each other, as if, ironically, we found the ideal form for our relationship through this – she was killed by her new husband exact at my Pluto squ MC – ‘change’ is not the word to describe how this hit my life, turned inside out and upside down, I went into complete withdraw and was out of any kind of action for 9 months following – however,it was a bridge to another transformative experience and following years also saw my own entry into family life – all things change when the little ones turn up!

rob; one thing I learned from my sisters death is to choose love, for what ever reasons you rationalized about letting your, (1st?) wife go, were not as strong as your love for her! If I had taken a stand against my sisters doctors and family she might be laughing w/ me now. It’s extremely hard when love takes a new form, your wife finding a new mate etc to keep antenni up, not follow cliches’…giving space, finding common ground…independence…. (my beautiful sister was poisened by chemo, (liver failure)) It’s important to stay vigilant with your kids, think ahead for them, place clear protective barrier surrounds so nothing can hurt them, never let anyone you love go…pluto forges ahead…strikes out impurities, makes us most ready. managing life hurts and it’s impossible to find a place of complete protection and even if you did pluto will look through the key-hole
…..Pluto’s is an ineqivocal process…..and, I should add that Linda’s (who was killed) NN was 1 degree from my IC and Pluto did several close passes to squaring this over a couple of years before finally passing beyond squaring her NN and hitting my IC exact square (and there were other synastric aspects involved, her Uranus conjunct my Moon was in another transit aspect, but, thats another story involving other planets)
yeh Lucy – thanks for yours and Anne-Louise kind words – I feel your comment needs answering though – I am well aware that love never dies, but changes shape – and Pluto’s lessons do need to be learned, hiding is not on the agenda, is denying soul lessons, and these are not an airy fairy kind of psycho-babble or a kind of expendable currency in everday life – they will come around again and again until they and the true nature of their reality are learnt – sound like no escape? Well, why would we want to – Pluto, especially square Sun, asks ‘is that what Life is for’? No, I would say if Pluto can help us ‘do’ anything it is break out of our narrow enculturated chrysalis (I agree with Terence McKenna – in this respect ‘culture is not your ‘friend”) and fully embody our unfathomable awareness in all its mysterious glory…..in Linda’s case I guess this came in as-radical-a-lesson as you can get; and I am not being crass here – perhaps I can explain a little from my own perspective; yes, once she had overcome cancer she gained a powerful new lease of life – I was well aware of how strong her life force was, more so than ever before, and saw also how, ironically, in its very drive it may have led her towards her death, which she did actually get many warnings of, but which that thirst for living to the absolute hilt of truth nearly blinded her to – this is one of those occasions where ‘fate’ it seemed would have its way – her new African husband needed desperately to return to his homeland, was deeply disturbed by the ‘West’ (not an unrecorded or unrecognised phenomenon) – the warnings were all in there, and she did pay heed, had bought him his ticket home, would be following on after……the ticket was delayed and, had it arrived on time, she would have lived, I am certain……..but, it would take a personal conversation beyond this (which I am willing to have) to explore the full intricacies of this and their meanings, astrological and otherwise…..
As scarey as all that might sound, it might help to consider that Pluto’s lessons are rarely, if ever, ‘beyond’ the person they are given to, and, if anything, help us to become more of what we already are (which is always more than we ‘think’ we are)…..they may also equip us to become more compassionate and understanding towards others in dire straights (Pluto or not in their lives), at least they would in an ideal world – I consider Pluto to be a greater pragmatist than Saturn, in so far as Pluto also teaches us that an ‘ideal world’ has less to do with ideals than with how well we can regenerate ourselves in the face of the most challengingly transformative experience……the Sun throws up the ideals and, in the square, Pluto brings them down again with an energy that pulls them well below the surface into the meltdown zone of inner truth, progressively deeper the more we resist – the square also gives us the illusion of choice and, if we keep on throwing up new ideals, we simply get more of the same until the ego submits, and a new (spiritual) body of ‘realism’ is germinated and bursts forth through the whole being from that molten core of truth……is not the Phoenix the esoteric symbol of Scorpio?
I would say that the Pluto square Sun, rather than the conjunct or opposition, presents us with the challenge of transformation, from both outside and inside, in a way that helps us to individuate through differentiation, ie through choices which retain ‘a sense’ of self purpose – where-as oppositions and conjuncts are all encompassing and absorb in totality, feel more like we are being ‘done to’ – its not all bad either; when Pluto crossed my Scorpio Asc it was a deeply challenging but very positive experience – all the masks of personality (the culturally acceptable ones that we usually clothe our physical self with) were stripped back and examined, exposed for their falacies, and once the cats out of the bag I found I could not hide it from others, no matter how much I might have tried (for the sake of living a ‘normal’ life), infact it was a relief – Pluto also gives us our own ‘genuine’ masks to wear and square Sun teaches us how and helps us to do so with conviction – yes, Lucy, cliches become anathema……

As you probably know I have lived for the most of the last 5 years in South Africa. Many tals to tell… but – and please don’t anyone be tempted to shoot me downin flames for this – African culture is so different form ours in such profound ways. I didn’t knwo this until I lived there and became close to people I employ, made friends with others and got to listen to stories.
As an inhabitant of the 12th, I tune in quickly, pick up moods, currents etc and I began to realise that there are stratum of – I’ll call it STUFF – on the subtle levels which is different.

But Terence McKenna’s point – That Culture is not your friend (I have a feeling Crowley may have said the same thing) – rings very true, because it takes a lot of courage to break with cultural norms. Conversely if a cultural norm is accepted and just accepted as that then one is free to explore/work otherwise. e.g as a yogi one can choose to be a “householder” – but then don’t deify the role and get on with the meditation…
But I digress. My point is that we have all entered into a happy clappy cultural mishmash exchange. Sharing a drink and borrowing someone’s hat does not make for a real cultural exchange. I now believe that some cultures cannot be exchanged. Not at all.

In my case this was very intense, working as a nurse at a Catholic nursing home. The boss wanted me gone but refused to fire me because she would have to pay me extra. I refused to quit because if I did I would not get social security. This went on for two months with dramas nearly every day. I was accussed of things I didn’t do, many false accusations and lies, but stood my ground and she finally sacked me. Very hard financially for a couple of years after that but now I am doing what I love for a living.
To make money after being fired from the nursing home I went to work as a farm labourer, first on a vegetable farm then on the banana farms in the hills near where I live. My body did not like it! I happily quit that one after a few months and took it easy. I geuss the farmng was rehabilitation but not farming was also a nice break. Now I get to sit on my bum all day in front of the computer. My body likes that 🙂

PLuto transits to the Sun seem to tirgger the death of an outmoded mode of self, something which doesn’t serve. it actually puts the subject into some sort of breakdown, which, depending on other factors, may be liveable with or not. Sometimes people become obsessive under PLuto, so with a square to the sun possible obsessive in maintaining that ego self if they aren’t predisposed to change – or indeed familiar with metaphysical.
I wonder if the square is more doable than the opposition because containment is important in a breaking down situation. Or if it presents a containment one needs to get out of.
I had a client with a natal PLuto Moon conj. When PLuto squared it she decided to have a child but miscarried. She conceived another child but succumbed to awful PND afterwards. Her natal obsession with cleanliness meant she kept her baby only in white clothes in a white room with no toys. She actually attempted to jump from a window with the baby. She also did not want the baby to grow up and underfed her, taking pride in the fact she was so tiny… thank goodness for the baby clinic which spotted the child was not thriving.
Control was a huge issue with this women. PLuto Moon is definitely controlling. This client also has Mars and Jupiter on ALgol… People in her life suffered immensely under the weight of her control issues. Her husband committed suicide when transiting PLuto trined her PLuto Moon conj.
My Sun 11 degrees in the 12th house of Capricorn is natally square my Pluto in Libra 11 degrees…. and now my Sun is conjunct transiting Pluto by a 4 degree orb…and square transiting Saturn in Libra. Whew!! Not to mention my Capricorn stellium (Sun, Asc, Moon, Mercury & Part of fortune all conjunct in opposition to natal Saturn) this process will be a long one. Yes I checked the ephemeris…you are right it will hit by degree in 2013… I knew I spoke to soon. I have an astrologer friend who seems to think I should feel the effects now just because it’s in Capricorn… and I have been going through quite a transformation for the past two years… completely eliminating the dead weight and rebuilding my inner strength. It’s been all positive thus far… but we shall see. 🙂
yes, and the transformation you will continue going through over the new 2 years will prepare you for the breakthrough that Uranus opposite your Sun will bring in June 2013 just after the first exact Pluto Sun square – then the meaning of transformation will take on whole new and unforesee-able meanings, though there is every chance that you will also discover more of yourself that you always felt (from the 12th degree) was underneath your surface knowledge of yourself – this has the look of initiation about it….

Watch out for the July eclipse at 9 degrees of Cancer – saturn on your natal PLuto is very close by quare to this eclipse. Saturn is on your PLuto/Jupiter opp in Libra Aries axis – will you be restricted in a competition for something?? HAve the lid firmly closed on your natural ebullience and desire to come first/lead etc?? SInce the sun is 12th house maybe its all behind the scenes? This eclipse is in the “empty” arm of your cardinal cross.

But what actual planetary lines go through these locations and if none, take a ruler and see where they connect horizontally?
E.g if a line of the moon goes through where you live, check out whether it is a moon line on the AC, mc, ic, dc as this will further qualify it. As for the place you are visiting, do the same with any planetary lines passing throughout it. I’m not sure you can quantify an experience purely by rulership of sign at a location. It has to be an actual planetary line.

The anarchic Magikal writer, Christopher S Hyatt postulates that the damsel in distress (Persephone etc) had to be created as a device for the male to rescue himself from his REAL feminine attributes… those of the primordial Kali quality, the Chthonic…
It is not unusual to see men who have dallied with these energies become prurient after the event!!! or even at the same time… we get the archetype of the mother/whore.
In mythic terms we have Orpheus who went to rescue his lovely wife from the underworld, i.e his pure side against the darker one… when he failed he railed against the lusty dionysian Maenads… became a pain in the neck, i.e cut off at the neck … and was beheaded…
PLuto needs to be examined more in the style of Kali as destroyer and rebirther. The myth presents the underworld as too patriarchal with the split aspect i.e PLuto/Ceres part of the myth too reliant on a mediating feminine. Sometimes Kali has to RAGE!!!
pluto is squaring my x’s midheaven (7 libra) and his venus (7 aries) with his natal pluto very close to the square (3 libra) as well as his sun (10 aries). Pluto is currently trine my venus (7 virgo) but in my progressed chart it’s squaring my venus (7 libra) and conjunct my DC with mars (10 cap) and neptune (4 cap) very close. In mu progressed i also have uranus/moon conjunct (18 sag). We have both been going through an extremely difficult/complicated breakup that stretched over a year (and even more). I wouldn’t be concerned about progressed Pluto because it moves so extremely slowly. You should be able to move on with Pluto trine Venus transit, even finding new love is a real possibility.

Marina does our synastry charts so I’m not to sure about Saturn Neptune. One thing I did notice is that Mars conjunct North Node can means this happen quickly, ie start and end quickly.
I’ve been dealing with Pluto Square Sun since it crossed my I.C. four years ago. It hit all of my angles which are on critical degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn(0 to 1 degrees) as well as my 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses where their 29th degree overlaps the 1st degree of the cardinal signs.
Pluto also squared my Vertex in Aries, natal Pluto in Libra, my Libra Ascendant and opposed my Cancer Midheaven all at the same time.
I’ve been dodging astrological sledgehammers for the last four years and it feels like it’s now starting to ease up.

Sounds like a major transformation. Pluto over the IC and through the 4th house alone is a bear from my perspective and yes, a long haul. Just finished it. (29 degree Scorpio on the IC, then a 1 deg moon 2 deg saturn conj in sagitarius squaring natal pluto in the twelth and opposing natal venus conj the MC. When Pluto was conj. the moon my mother had a stroke and I walked out on an intolerable job while in a home situation entirely lacking in support. After twelve months I found a new and most wonderful job which I am still in. For the rest of the 4th house transit my already difficult marriage slowly dissolved, culminating in a January 2007 cancer diagnosis and a 2009 divorce (moved out during the cardinal cross of June 2010 after Pluto went into Cap in the 5th. I was truly transformed and SAVED by my work environment which challenged me and helped to grow greatly as an individual during most of the transit and provided much comfort. As for now, I am curious – when t Pluto in the 5th squares and Uranus conjuncts my 8th house 10 deg Aries sun do you think it will play out in the twelth where Leo is on the cusp? I have just been reading about following the transited planet that is activated to the natal house it rules to determine where the experience will be expressed.

I’m a little dubious about Pluto, I’m right in the thick of the Pluto sq. Sun transit (8 deg. Aries) and to make it more “fun” Pluto is also opposing my natal Moon in Cancer. Pluto is sitting dangerously close to my 6th house cusp.
I’ve definitely been in the middle of what feels like some major transformation stuff. I’m a bit nervous about health issues I could be facing as Pluto crosses my 6th, but I’m trying to get ahead of that by focusing on improving my diet and getting regular exercise.
I am also feeling like a rebellious teenager at my core – I want nothing more right now – in my life to have my own little “domain” where I can be free to be a wacky middle-aged cat lady who has a bunch of wacky hobbies, throws fabulous parties, dresses eccentric, etc. I feel like.. “I’m tired of trying to be what other people want me to be”. It’s almost as if my inner Aries is really boiling to the surface and will not be contained 🙂

Wow! My insides and outside life are upside down, just like Alice through the Looking Glass. First Decan Libra. I have been an avowed dog hater for more than 50 years. My bday is 3-29-77, 12:50pm. My entire life changed last year, job, starting school again, moving in w my boyfriend, death of a dear friend and an aunt, close friend moving away. I felt turned upside down both in a good way and sometimes quite stressful way. Things seem to remain intense and fast paced, though I feel it more around me like I’m trying to settle into this new skin I have. I have never had such an intense year in my life, I’m still trying to catch up it feels like. And I feel exhausted and energized and more creative at the same time. I’m hoping to focus more on my relationship with my Gemini boyfriend (6-6-78) this year. And hope this year is not as intense, but I’m not sure that will be the case…
I was originally under the impression this transit would last about a year but it started for me at .50 degrees about a month ago and is at .18 degrees now. Meaning it’ll probably last for about 3 months total. Is this normal? I know square aspects generally dissipate faster then trines and conjunctions but 3 months seems like just a little time for a Pluto transit. I feel more deeply and darkly aggressive. It’s one of the more prominent feelings under this transit. I guess I’m pretty set and sure of who I am.
Are you taking into account retrograde motion? There would be three hits from Pluto over about a year. It does go over the one degree orb in this time but for such a strong transit I would still say it’s affecting you the whole time.
I guess I didn’t take the retrogrades into consideration. Do major planets usually have retrogrades in their transits?
I was under the impression that transits last approximately two years and then they move on, except for my Pluto trine Venus transit which only lasted a year then it got overshadowed by my Pluto opposing my Saturn and squaring my Neptune, which is no fun. My astrologer tells me that during a year Pluto will move back and forth in your chart, and become exact at certain months when it is the strongest, and then go retrograde at certain times. It’s pretty much a two year cycle as far as I can see, having Pluto squaring my Sun from January of 2013 to November of 2014. The waning time should also be considered as it tends to fade out.
This scares me a bit. Pluto squares my Sun/Moon Opposition in 2014. Uranus will be conjunct my Sun about that same time. And, Pluto will be sitting on my girlfriend’s IC and Uranus will be on her DSC. I’m trying not to think too much about it since it is a couple of years until it happens. But I certainly can’t help but to wonder what this major event will be.

I guess what scares me is that Pluto is going through my 8th house. When Pluto was conjunct my 8th house cusp my grandmother, step-grandmother, and uncle all died within a month of each other. So with it squaring my Sun and Moon, I’m sure you can guess what my fear is! But in my chart, the sun rules my 4th house and the moon rules my 2nd. And Uranus rules my 10th house and will also be involved. So it could be something financial that involves my home and career. Jupiter will be in my 2nd house supporting my 10th house planets. So it might not be anything that bad. It’s a couple of years still, so there’s no real way to know how it will go.

I was actually excited about the Pluto square Sun transit, it’s real powerful and cause it’s effecting my hopes and wishes house (Sun) it’s causing alotta determination in me to accomplish my goals with a kinda, it’s GOING to happen attitude. The more negative affects from what I could see are sometimes real deep negative feelings and a more dark kinda anger when someone opposes me. I read about if you’re not really set in who you are these deep negative feelings could result in personal confusion and unsureness causing you to really find your inner strength or just kinda breaking down.
I’d suggest you really try get together who you really are before this transit hits cause if I didn’t know who I really am I think the negatives would be worse and not just manifesting in more intense feelings against the people who oppose me.
I have the Sun, Moon and Pluto all three conjunct in natal chart. So the square will be also with moon and natal pluto. The worst part is that transiting Pluto is making the square from 8th house. How bad this can be?

So you’re about 13-14 Cancer. Pluto has just turned retrograde at 9 Capricorn (within 4-5 degrees) of opposite your Sun. Not close enough to be too significant yet. 2014 you will really feel it.
I have Pluto square my Sun coming up in 2013 and 2014. According to the Pluto square Sun Transit Dates, as a second decanate Aries, I will have it until 2018 but my astrologer says that is not true; it only goes on until 2014 as each planetary transit is approximately 2 years in duration, no matter what your sun sign is. still recovering, along experienced capricorn/cancer eclipses etc… past 4 years has been THE hardest.

I feel for you, cancer7676. Pluto squared my Sun from when I was about 14 to about 19 years old. I had a serious conflict with my father during the time the square was exact and then when the square became exact again (Pluto was retrograding and moving back to square again and again during this time) I had a serious conflict with my best friend who was my rock during these times I felt so alienated from my parents and family. All I could think of was to get away from my family – a few times I was very self-destructive. What got me through some of the worst of it was writing creatively and connections with a few teachers and my friends. By the way, Pluto was transiting my third house so writing makes sense I think. So, stay connected to people you trust and journal would be my advice – or maybe whatever the activities are of the house where Pluto is in your chart would be healing for you?

It is unfair. I have seen the nastiest people get the most amazingly good transits and people who are kind and loving get these crappy ones. I have seen careers skyrocket and other careers get completely destroyed. I don’t know if it makes you a better person in the end. All I know is that I feel very angry and resentful that everything I worked for all my life has been wiped out while all my friends are having a grand old time. It is hard to bear. That is why I do not believe in karma. It makes no sense. You could ask: “What is God thinking?” You wouldn’t get an answer to that one either. I have gone through Pluto opposing my Saturn and squaring my Neptune for the last two years and soon I’ll be going through Pluto squaring my Sun. This scares me. When will it end? I ask, and what kind of shape will I be in when it does end? We won’t be getting any answers so all we can do is hold on and pray it will end some day and we will be in better shape.

My ex broke up with me almost on the exact hour of the total solar eclipse on July 11 2010. The planetary action at the time in comparison to my natal chart is just crazy.
The eclipse was at 19 Cancer which is on his DC and exactly opposite my moon (19 Cap).

Transiting Mercury (4 Leo) (conjunct my Merc @ 2 Leo) also formed a square aspect to my Pluto (4 Scorp).

Don’t know where my Moon will be but having undergone Pluto opposing my Saturn and squaring my Neptune, and as well, Uranus squaring my Saturn and sestiquadrain my Moon for the last two years, I am already depressed and depleted enough. Well, I’m sorry to hear that, Ruby. I know you are a Gemini. I am an Aries. I have not spent my entire life walking away from people as you have. I’ve had a great life until 2010. Great marriage. Great friends, great career, everything. People have been kind and usually I don’t encounter power trips, except at work and that can’t be avoided. I just haven’t had those experiences and now am baffled at finding myself getting into arguments with people because I do not feel respected or heard anymore. I have a circle of friends who love and suppoort me. I get into it with them too. I know it is this square. I do not walk away from nasty people. I let them have it back. So, I keep asserting myself and find myself fighting a lot with people, but I will not be treated poorly by anybody. I am not a victim. I have never been a victim. If I don’t like someone’s company, I ask them to walk away. I don’t walk away myself. I stand my ground. This is a different way from how you handle things. I know this transit will end eventually. For the last almost two years I have had Pluto opposing my Saturn and squaring my Neptune. If that wasn’t bad enough I also had Uranus squaring Pluto and sestiquadron my Moon. I am surprised I am still alive, having been suicidal the whole time. I now have health problems. Coming up in 2013 and 2014 I have Pluto squaring my Sun. My Sun is in my 12th house so I am pretty well convinced I will die of a heart attack or a member of my family will die of a heart attack or I will end up in a mental institution again when I just got out of one. Thank you for your kind response. To answer your question, the universe is impartial. It is not pro or con anyone. It’s the same with the planets. They don’t care. So, yes, I do believe the planets, not the universe, will tell us about nasty cycles that could end our lives. Ever gone to an astrologer and been told a family member was going to die in eight months? I have and she did die. Imagine the transits you’d be getting if you got Cancer or Aids? Not pleasant. Not one of us is guaranteed a specific time on earth and we all go in different ways. My quandry is that I believe God created the heavens and the earth and that includes the planets. Rather than believe God is out to get me or that I have bad karma, I choose to believe that God doesn’t want any person to suffer needlessly. That’s why people commit suicide and I don’t believe that is wrong. There is only so much agony a person can take. That’s why, as a Canadian, I am happy that the physician assisted suicide laws for terminally ill people are up for change. We will put our animals down when they are suffering, but human beings have to suffer it out till the very last minute and lose their dignity. This is not what God intends.

Advice? Under the circumstances I will take a stab. I think insanity stems from one of two things: either a deep wound, unattended, reasoned into a dark box to be “let go of” instead of given attention, resolved and healed. . . Or we are unwilling to see realistically the part we choose to play in our own dramas, and so drama escalates in order to get attention, etc etc. Either we choose to stay in unhealthy environs from fear, or we more directly bring negativity to us by behavior.
Solution? Well, first, if you are a victim, walk away. Get out, whatever way you can find, or make a way. Any way, as long as you hurt no one. A good test of playing the victim role is if you have the ability to project how others might feel to yours actions (I mean this as a general area of empathy you have strength in). If empathy is not your strong suit, you are likely challenged with the difficult and often uncomfortable task to the ego, of facing facts, realities, truths, others as well as your own. I you are the latter type, find a GOOD therapist, to help you get real with yourself. . . . And look forward to a good laugh session cuz if you make it out of the Labrynth alive, you will have learned and found great joy in laughing at yourself,. . And the rest of us too.

Yes, “whining” and “you’re just trying to get sympathy or attention” are pretty much what I get from people under this transit. Also, if I fall and hurt myself people have said, “Are you going to live?” or “You are just trying to prove to people that you are hurt,” which is cruel and disrespecful to the suffering person. If you would scroll up to what Julie said about her best friend committing suicide when he or she had Pluto square their Sun and Moon in 8 degrees of Aries, you would see this is no laughing matter.

I am definitely going a through a battle in my life as a whole. I got laid-off 3 years ago when i was 8 mos preggers. Now my son is 3 yrs old and I have not been able to get back on my feet. Thanks for that explanation. It all makes a lot of sense. My wife first became ill in 2008 shortly after our first child, eventually leading to MS by 2010 shortly after our second. In conjunction with this I was placed squarely under work pressure at a company who eventually folded in 2011. My parents have also separated during this time and my grandparents and a number of other blood relatives have died.
Apart from that it’s fine! I haven’t coped terribly well with it all and have been placed under intense scrutiny and harsh judgement by so many people.
It’s taught me that no matter what is happening, I must try and control my emotions (Aries moon you see). It’s a process that is ongoing as I desperately try and rebuild my shattered home life and professional career. I have setbacks and hope that people will forgive these in time, though I understand that it has to be earned.
As for my own esoteric studies, I really think I have troughed now (0’55” Libra). I’ve just escaped redundancy at my new company, though I remain vigilant and hope that my marriage can begin to enjoy a more stable footing. I think this rebuilding is a slow process but will culminate with the announcement of a possible cure for MS in April 2013 (a bold prediction for a very amateur psychic).

With the retrogrades and the directs that have happened, I am on noe last go around. September and I am finally out of the woods. Well it certainly is gratifying to read that other people have been through this hell too. Yes, we must all honour Pluto’s lessons but when Pluto does not honour us, as in this transit, it is hell and there are no lessons to learn, except to endure. Pluto turns us into somebody we are not, evident from all our losses.
We can’t function on a normal plane. Nobody wants to live a life like that. That is not living as we should. That is destruction of our souls. Some people think Aries are impatient. Try living for years as a soulless person and see how quickly you want it to end. We are in pain, some of us suicidal. Of course we want it to end as quickly as possible. My God! Who wouldn’t?
We all experience this transit in different ways. No one can judge what we are going through. With a square, Pluto is the destroyer. With a trine, Pluto is the creator. It’s as simple as that. Get out of the squares and you get your life back. Yes – radically honest with self (Self). Me too-see this as being a vital part of the process so that one can form an honest new identity – perhaps the new is just Acceptance of the true? This is very freeing – and with the transiting Uranus in Aries component this is so possible. And Yes – insecurity instead of clarity – because the process of becoming honest with self is taking it all apart before it gets put back together and this creates an instability of sorts – but the end goal and prize is clarity and again, acceptance (how wonderful!). I think people are way too harsh with the ‘impatient aries’ thing.
They need to understand (and so do we!!) that we do more stuff in one day than most signs could fit into a week.

I am a second deconate Aries, born March 31. I have lived through the last three years of Pluto opposite my Saturn and square my Neptune, Uranus opposite Neptune, Uranus square Saturn, and Uranus sestiquadrat my Moon. It has been a ghastly experience with a setback to my career in writing and art. I was also placed in a mental institution and had to have shock treatments. This transit is just waning now and taking a long time to do it. I am so very tired and it’s an effort to do anything. I feel disrespected and not heard. I feel as if I am being treated like a child. I was suicidal during that time but was afraid to kill myself unless I botched it and was in even worse shape. I almost lost my house and was almost placed in a group home it got so bad. I was left with health problems and now have to take blood thinners as I had two blood clots; one a superficial one, and the other, in a deep vein that put me in the hospital on oxygen because the clot went to my lung.I am amazed I am still alive.
I have partially regained my career but nobody seems to pay attention to my poetry and art anymore. Coming up in 2013 and 2014 I have Pluto square my Sun. As if I haven’t been through enough.
I don’t know what to expect, except more of the same, only maybe not as relentless. I am concerned about my health and the position Pluto is in with my chart would be a “crisis of the heart” which could be a heart attack or somebody I know, usually a male, having a heart attack. I know I am in for serious power trips and an attack against my character which I have already had in spades. I am concerned I might not be able to make it through to 2015 when I will have Pluto sextile my Moon, which isn’t a strong transit, but much better than what I have been through. I have enormous compassion for anybody encountering or about to encounter Pluto square Sun. All we can do is push through and do the best we can with it and realize this is not our fault; it’s what the transits are doing, over which we have no control. I do not believe this is a karmic situation because I believe we get our rewards and punishments in this lifetime, not in the next. God Bless all and good luck with it.

It sounds like something people say to explain away all the bad stuff that happens when no one can work out what the hell you did to deserve it.
Oh, I see – I was Stalin in my last life so I am bought back and punished with a bunch of Pluto squares……that’ll teach me.
If you are bad, doesn’t it make sense to punish you at the time so you learn the consequences of your actions?
To be fair to Pluto – if we prepared properly for his squares (by winning the lottery and retiring to a desert island with our loved one) perhaps they would not hit us so hard?
You just said the magic words. If life is, indeed, stages of personal growth and spiritual enlightenment, along with the growth of our soul which also benefits the growth of the world soul, what good are having lessons if they are not learned in this lifetime? I have always subscribed to the belief that life is a series of lessons and stages of personal and spiritual growth, but since the Pluto squares hit me that has gone down the crapper. I never did believe in reincarnation; it’s too complicated to get a group of souls together to work out their karma when we are all different ages when we die and in all stages of spiritual growth. People lean towards the belief that they occupied lofty positions in their previous lifetime, which is ridiculous. Thousands of years from now when we are hit by a comet or another planet and the world is destroyed, will it make any difference about our lessons, or even what we have left for the world because there will be no world left? Life is now until we die and that’s it. It’s all we are allowed to know for sure.
Do second decanate Aries have much more to suffer…as I am 31st march born am between decanate 1 and 2..I fail to understand what to expect now as it is..2012 has been truly nerve breaking for me and I have had enough..I might just break now it feels…
It does not matter what decanate you are when you are experiencing Pluto square Sun. No one decanate gets the most misery. It depends upon what other transits are in operation and there will always be some positive ones. Having been through Pluto, Neptune and Uranus squares, and oppositions to Saturn for the last few years, I felt like I would not make it through, but I did. March 31st is second decanate. Best thing to do is see an astrologer and find out what else is going on at the same time as your Pluto square Sun. There will also be echoes of these transits; when they appear to have waned, then they will come back at you but they will eventually fade out.

It’s a very difficult transit, no doubt about it, and I am about to experience it myself in January of 2013 for two years. March 31, the day of my birthday and yours, is second decanate. We don’t get an easier or heavier experience with this transit because of our decanate. Again, if you feel that astrology is providing a good explanation for what you are going through, seek out an astrologer to find our what else is going on and when the transits will wane. It’s important to know what else is going on; it may help your outlook.

I totally identify with you on this as I have had Pluto and Uranus squares for the last two years, had absolutely no energy, was suicidal, had no appetite, couldn’t sleep, and just didn’t want to live. I crawled through each day while I watched my life being bashed to bits. I endured a total washout with everything going down the drain; career, relationships with family, and friends. I didn’t feel alive, felt invisible, didn’t feel heard or respected and the arguments and judgments placed upon me were stultifying and soul battering. I have Pluto square Sun coming up in 2013 and I just don’t know what is going to happen to me; I am very worried and scared about it. It is a living hell, truly. These transits usually last two years with an echo to them. They eventually do wane but they seem to take a long time doing it. You must have some good transits in there too. We all do, it’s just that this Pluto stuff is so overpowering. I just wish I had an answer. These transits should be happening to Clifford Olson and Charles Manson, not us.

One of my friends has the uranus-pluto pluto square right on her Aries moon at the moment. The same square is also bang on her boyfriend’s sun in Libra. They’ve just moved in together and talk about marrying and having kids. The transits are tearing something apart all right: past negative relationship experiences for both them. And giving them the urge to actually do something they really want to do (live together), instead of endlessly thinking about it!
I know a lot of people with sun/moon in cardinal signs that move in together/marry/have kids with these transits. I also know of many people that started therapy with so-called ‘hard pluto’ transits, myself included. It was a unique experience of getting rid of a lot of unnesessary burdens and facing ghosts from the past, purged in pluto’s fire. I’m not saying it’s easy or delightful. But I cannot ignore the benefits, it’s as simple as that.
I’m March 31st too, so I’m not done with this either. I’ve had a good taste of this square on my Sun this spring, and the next two years are full of pluto/uranus and saturn transits. What I really think is that any, any transit can bring clarity and healing if we choose to go with it, especially amidst the pain, and not turn our heads the other way.
Pluto transits in particular are too powerful to be wasted on wishing they were not there. There’s too much strength, too much transformation available to let it slip through our fingers without taking ourselves to the next level. At least that’s how I see it right now.
Well,okay. Thanks for that. Here’s the thing, though. As well the difficult squares we all have good transits in there as well and this is what produces the positive transformation. You have a sextile or a trine with a couple of other planets and that balances out the Pluto squares. But if the Pluto squares are so heavy that they overshadow the good stuff,then you are in trouble. This is what happened to me. I had Pluto trine Venus in 2009/10, which is as good as you are ever going to get; it only comes along every 84 years, but I also had Pluto, Saturn, and Uranus squares which completely overshadowed the trine, so I incurred a major setback in all areas of my life. There are recovery transits and I believe I am in them now; having recovered some of what I lost, but those three years were wasted. So, if you have a Pluto square with something to balance it out so that it produces a positive transformation, great, but if you don’t,then you are in for a challenge. Positive attitude is the key,though. By focusing on doing what you love you will have a far easier time. It just depends upon whether or not you have the actual energy to do it.
I am having a hard time dealing with the Pluto/Saturn/Uranus “transits” because I had already gotten rid of the bad stuff and was trying to rebuild my life starting from scratch…. I had nothing and no one, just me.
And then got sideswiped by these bully transits. Why?
I thought I was just starting to get things together and suddenly instead of a psycho slamming my head into a wall, it’s a bunch of planets.
The “recovery transits” would want to be pretty amazing to make up for the astro-battering.
There seems no apparent reasons for these bashing Pluto squares. I asked my astrologer about this and he said it wasn’t my fault and it was just what was going on up there. The “just what was going on up there” explanation didn’t satisfy me. I have now gone on to blaming God for this; He created the Heavens and the Earth and the planets. Don’t let these squares destroy your precious life. Do the best you can, express your anger when you are mad and don’t let anybody tell you are wrong for feeling the way you do. These transits suck! Nobody can know unless they have been through them themselves. I take the aggressive approach and just plow through them.
See, this is it about us humans, always searching for someone to blame, whether it’s the planets, my liar ex, my unappreciative friends or the incompetent government. No, it’s actually all inside us. The fear, the anger, the desperation, the spite, everything. As is the bliss, joy, love and compassion. And unless we honestly take responsibility for ourselves and deal with what is, I’m sorry, but there will be no such thing as a ‘good’ transit that you can actually feel in your bones as good. I’ve had loads of Jupiter transits when I was depressed, and thought the astrologers where nuts being excited with Jupiter like this. And I’ve got loads of examples like that, for a really long time.
Yes, by all means, get the anger out, in a safe way, and THEN find some way to do (or keep going with) inner work. There is no such thing as ‘I’m done with this, now I’m expecting something good’ in life, there is always something that’s coming next. What are you going to do, stay put and complain about the injustice? As I said above, these ‘horrendous’ transits have absolutely no reason at all to be horrendous, WE make them be whatever we THINK they are. They seem to work miracles for some people and send others to the darkest pits of hell. But the planets don’t do anything, they’re just on their journey indicating what kind of time has come. Circumstances are never going to be perfect, there is no ‘perfect time’ to do anything. Pluto trines (‘good transit’) can be just as devasting as squares; and squares can be just as excilarating as trines. So unless we get moving to find the path that can help us throw away the past s$%^ and grow into what our soul needs to evolve, we can point the finger as much as we like at planetary ‘baddies’… but but nothing will come out of it and no real transformation will ever happen. I really see no point in judging the planets in the sky for what they’re ‘doing to us’. They’re not ‘doing’ anything, they travel in the universe, that’s what planets DO! It’s our own choice how we view things and if we choose to give up our power and say well, it’s ‘their’ fault. And even when it actually is, where does that take you? What are you going to do, lay down and die because ‘good things happen to bad people and not the other way round’? I’m sorry, and no offence really, but I don’t see any productive side to this attitude. We all have our own stuff to take care of in this life. Comparing it with what happens to others won’t do the trick, honestly getting to know and accepting who we are, and moving on to share our light, might as well.

Oh,dear. This is not your fault. You are not to blame. One of my astrologers gave up on me; said she couldn’t cope with the Saturn heaviness. I did not create these transits. If I had so called “free will” as God says, I would never have created these transits. I do not think God is a poor guy. Ever read the bible? He gets pissed off at everything; wipes out entire populations of people because they are breaking His commandments. Ever read the story of Noah’s ark? He got pissed off with the entire human race and wiped them off the face of the earth except for Noah and his family, the birds and the animals. How could all those people, birds and animals fit into a single arc? Think about it. He enters into a contest with Satan over Job because of His ego to see who Job will favour. This is immature stuff. The old testament is particularly bad; children should be stoned to death because they don’t obey their parents?
In the bible God does reward the faithful but we are faithful and He is not rewarding us so something is wrong. I have so many problems over God and the bible that I have to decided to become a Buddhist. I will be focusing on my inner self and attaining Nirvana rather than feeling guilty as sin for Jesus hanging on the cross and trying to please Him.
and I would disagree with Kacey; yes there is a perfect time to do things. I’ve had some wonderful transits that have allowed me to really boost my career and love life. I am not just sitting there and blaming the planets either. I get up,I work on my novel all day, I houseclean, I paint, I entertain my friends and I am about to publish a fiction book, my first one, and this the worst time astrologically to do this but I do it. I am tired as hell but I do it. I blame God; I am allowed to, but I am not stuck over it. I get pissed off and do things. That’s the answer, besides finding out what else is going on in your chart that is positive, and there are always positive transits along with the bad. Then just plow through and do it. Blame whoever you want, get mad at whoever you want; it’s your right if you feel you are being stomped on, but just do it. I am innocent. So are you.

Hey there. I would like to have some explanations in certain aspects of my natal chart as it’s few years that I’m in a bad mood/energy situation. Never happy, no will, anger, no forces to express my emotions (destructive and constructive ones), so much tansion, no real self, intolerance, envy, no satisfaction (even though I have had incredible experiences in the last years). But I hide everything from people and the world with a Libra rising that makes my surface apparently really balanced and “chilled”. It would be nice to get few tips from somebody:

Sun is in the X house, Pluto in the I, Moon in the IX, and it is a T-apex with the sun at the top.

Hello me. I’m, not an astrologer but here goes. You obviously have some very challenging aspects in your chart. The best thing I can think of when I am angry or down and can’t get in touch with myself is that I write out these Morning Pages. I even write down entire conversations I wish to have with people. I write down exactly what I think and what I feel. I read them over and over to see if I am making any progress. It really gets rid of a lot of the pent up emotions. Read Simple Abundance. It will change your whole way of thinking. People you love and trust, share what you write with them so they could understand where you are really coming from. If you do that you will really get in touch with yourself. It works for me. Good luck with it!
I was born on the 26th of March so I’m guessing I’m first deconate. Lol, sorry for sounding like an idiot but I’m new at these things so I’d really appreciate it if someone could please explain it more in detail about what this thing about Pluto squaring up my Sun is about? Thankyouuu.

If you are really concerned about this Pluto square Sun transit then read the explanation given above by Jamie. It’s pretty accurate. It needs to be said that there will be other transits operating in your chart besides Pluto square Sun which could produce a positive effect but then there are transits that could produce a negative effect. Best thing to do is to consult a reputable astrologer who will give you an in-depth reading based on your birth date and exact birth time, not these half-assed astrologers in the newspaper. They are too general. It’s best to find out what you are dealing with so you can develop a plan. Pluto square Sun is a challenge, absolutely. It’s not an easy transit and the more help you get working your way through it with a positive state of mind, the easier it will be. Good luck with it!

It might sound a bit parochial to rap him on his own website, but seriously he is The Guy to go to for a no-nonsense interpretation of what is happening in your chart.
It seems to me that Jamie has made an error according to my astrologer. The Pluto square Sun transit is a two year transit like all transits are. They are never more than two years; three years tops in waning. Jamie has calculated that each decanate has a five year transit with Pluto square Sun and they fall in different years. The transit is not about your decanate. It’s about your birth date, year, and birth time. I am about to go into the Pluto square Sun transit in January of 2013. In January of 2015 I will be experiencing Pluto sextile Moon. I would prefer to believe my own astrologer as it sounds far more positive.

Really worried about this one, especially since it just entered my 6th. At the same time it is squaring my Sun it is also making an exact conjunction to my Jupiter. I am worried that this transit will affect my health, since it’s squaring my Sun from my 6th. Jupiter can only exacerbate the problem. 🙁
I think the worst thing I can do when I know that ‘bad’ transits are happening or about to is to be afraid. Death inevitably touches us all and I think one learns and grows most when challenging circumstances make us dig deep in order to overcome them and feel free. Almost everyone I’m around in this area I live in is just consumed with comfort and safety, never having anything in their lives happen unexpectedly and just do the same thing day after day after day….and model themselves after everyone else they see. I honest to God almost on a daily basis feel like I’m living around a bunch of robots.
So I’d say, trust the Universe. Trust that whatever happens was supposed to happen. Trust the process even if it means a physical death. Everyone dies, unfortunately, most people are afraid to really live.
Well, Clytnjms, the purpose of a Pluto square is to make you afraid; after all,it is basically destroying everything you have built up for yourself and turning you into a negative person you are not and that is enough to scare a person shitless. How is that a positive transformation into your true self? If you want that you’ll need a Pluto trine. A Pluto square represents a huge setback in your life, one you have to live through in order to transform once again to the positive person you were before you went into it. That was your true self. Everyone experiences this transit in different ways. If you feel you are being pared down to your true self then you must have a nice big trine somewhere helping you out that some of us don’t have. The people in my life have the same challenges I do; they are not consumed with comfort and safety. They are trying to enjoy life and get the most out of it that they can. They want to do more than survive,they want to thrive, which is human. So,we have different transits here. We all do. What I am experiencing with this Pluto square is not my true self at all; my true self is being suppressed by this square until it passes. And yes,unfortunately, some of us have health problems under this transit and we die. There is nothing we can do about it. I wouldn’t trust the universe,though. The universe is impartial.I would trust myself. And if this is the plan of the universe then we don’t have to like it, which I don’t. That,I believe,is what is called free will.
If it was all free will then you’d be able to overcome or not allow a pluto square Sun transit happen in your life. EVERYONE has a shadow. Some people suppress theirs their entire life and scapegoat anyone that is symbolic of that which they haven’t integrated into their waking awareness. We are ALL a work in progress. Your either going forward or your going backward. When I first learned the guitar which I have a link to my online web site here, the times that I really thought I was terrible and wasn’t enjoying myself at all were the times my guitar teacher would say those are the times when I’m really growing and learning. I think ‘free will’ comes into play when during these hard pluto transits, you somehow someway stay in the positive or maybe possibly try something different to get you out of the rut the pluto square has put you in. From my experience, we grow most during trials and hardships. I think to somehow someway get to a point inside your self where your not afraid to suffer or feel pain will you be liberated from it. Fear is the biggest challenge and obstacle there is if you ask me. I think Pluto square Sun can REALLY get you in touch with your ‘claws’ and courage. It kind of pushes you to go REAL deep, especially when challenged by others who represent that pluto energy. I’ve had six or seven people come into my life which turned into intense power plays during this transit, and I was willing to do whatever it took to not allow them or anyone to mentally impede me any shape way or form,even it meant the dreaded what will other people say or think dynamic that most people I’m around live their entire lives in fear of. The fear of being talked negatively about of having God forbid someone not like you seems to paralyze damn near everyone I’m around. A friend to all is a friend to none. This pluto square Sun has made me not put up with little petty power play mind games that I used to for years and years from people. It’s allowed me to stand my ground and not worry if that meant that someone God forbid didn’t like me and would talk negatively about me. All I know is that I’m free from being pinned down by their thoughts and free from their negative manipulative power plays/games. I don’t think your supposed to like everyone around you or comes into your life. Some people I don’t like period. And that is ok if some people don’t like me either. It’s not the end of the world.
We have no choice about which transits hit us. After 67 years on this earth I have learned this. Free will is in how we handle our transits, not in choosing them. Fear is a totally human response to situations that are likely to be not good for us or that we should use caution with or that are challenges. In some cases it saves our lives. The challenge is in overcoming fear, not getting rid of it. Every time I have had an opportunity for spiritual growth, it has been a challenge but I have enjoyed that challenge. I have not dreaded it. I have never cared what people said about me or if they don’t like me. Most people are idiots on this planet anyway. I like myself and that’s all that counts. So bring on the power plays. It’s not like I haven’t had them for the last three years anyway. I happen to like my shadow; it’s got some great stuff. I am quite familiar with it now. See how different we all are? And thank God for that!

How true! The point I am trying to make, and I understand that my transits are not the same as anybody else’s is that when these squares hit me I am transformed into somebody I do not want to be; who can’t do anything much, just lie there and survive until these squares are over with, then I can transform back into the person I used to be and move on. It’s a complete waste of my years and I learn nothing from it,only how to survive, which isn’t much of a lesson when I could be learning so many more great things. It’s very sad to have to go through it.
I hear you. I have the same problem. Because of the position of the planets in my chart, my astrologer has me wondering if I will have a major heart attack or somebody in my family will have a major heart attack. It’s scary business. All you can do is check with your doctor to make sure you are in good health and try to stay that way. Michael Douglas had this transit and survived throat cancer. Barbara Walters had this transit and survived heart problems. You don’t have to die under this transit,but if you do it is no fault of yours. All you can do is what I do; fight it for all you are worth. Do the things you love even if you are exhausted and don’t let anybody give you any crap. It is not your fault.
This is a very good article on the Shadow I thought you might find interesting. I think Pluto Square Sun can get you in touch with those long lost repressed emotions and experience and give them their proper place and integrate them during the transit. That is why I think that even the ‘bad’ transits have potential to become trines if the lesson is learned and integrated.

I agree challenging aspects, limitations and difficulties in life are there to help us grow. Looking back at my life I wouldn’t say I would gladly go through those tough times again (and I had quite a bit of those already), but I can clearly see now how it helped me become who I am today.
Somehow I differentiate between life challenges like losing a job, being on streets, divorce, etc. that can help you grow if you overcome those, from health challenges like having a deadly cancer. And that’s where our discussion turned to existential philosophy and view on life and death. Yes, worrying about dying is not helping you avoid it. But, not thinking about it completely besides being almost impossible, it is also not bringing anything good. Yes, we will all die and our time on earth is limited, but being aware of that should not stop us from living life, but help us live a more authentic life. We know we will die, but we do not know whether that will be in a few decades or a few hours. Knowing that you live according to your values helps ease that anxiety. I definitely still feel anxious thinking about these aspects, but having that helped me tell my husband that I love him today when he was getting on my nerves. Just because I never know when is my last day.
P.S. I think this article should’ve mentioned Uranus as well. Uranus is currently conjunct Sun for Aries, which means Sun and Uranus together are squaring Pluto.

I been going through this on the opposite end. I’m 6 Libra Sun (b.9.29.73) with natal conj to Pluto and square to Saturn anyway and receiving pretty much the same Universal “bitch slap” from all those heavy hitters since we’re all early degrees in Cardinal signs. Yep, it’s been rough. Total grind of seemingly never-ending obstacles with a lot of instability peppered in and glad to hear I’m not the only one who felt like I was really “losing it” in more ways than one. But this too, shall pass. There were a lot of negative situations in my life that I really needed to stand up to and I was allowing them to stick around. Hence the purge. At times, life feels pretty empty and drained – I’m recovering in the midst of a bunch of groggy Neptune squares – yuck – & Good ole’ Saturn is still not done with me but I feel a lot clearer. I have wisened and matured.
Remember, the Universe hates a void. Don’t compare yourself to others. Let go of what you know for sure needs to go and be open to the possibility of something surprising coming in.
As you can see, this influence is affecting so many on the planet and some folks are really losing it w/ all these extreme crimes and freakouts, exposes etc. I think our Survival instincts cause us to tense up and want to hold on – increasing pain. It’s like a car crash – it’s the tense people that get hurt the worst where folks who relax into it fare better.
The best thing is likely not to expect too much of yourself and try to just focus on the basics in front of you and good self-care. Sleep more if you can, take it easy, do yoga or Tai Chi, listen to beautiful music, adopt an animal, anything you can do for yourself to ease stress and definitely, take the opportunity change or let go of anything that’s not working.
Never has there been a set of influences like this in our Lifetime. There are many people who have been wiped out, if not physically, financially or psychologically, then by literal weather! It IS rough weather but at least you have the heads up. So many folks do not even understand what is happening to them. Take comfort knowing you are in good company and if you’ve made it this far – you will likely never have something this harsh coming at you again.
P.S. So many 3.31s on here! Clythnjms, my best friend is 3.31 and also a singer/songwriter with another successful business on the side. She also had her business partners turn on her and try to take everything. Luckily, they forced her hand, she stood her ground so they had no choice but to leave. Once they left, her business skyrocketed and over the last 2 years, she has had the ability to transform her life in amazing ways. I remember the day she called me so scared and beat down asking what to do. All I said was, “You are better off without them. Stand up and DO NOT EVER GIVE UP.” Well…She hung in and though I’m sure life is hectic with it’s pressures – she is glad she did not give up!!

This Pluto square has not only been affecting my sun at Libra 8, but also my Black Moon Lilith at Libra 7. Both Sun and Lilith are in the 4th house. I’ve been experiencing this transit in a very intense and personal way.
My now-husband left his ex-wife three months after he and I met, in late 2010. He’d been planning to do so anyway–she’s a diagnosed Type I bipolar, non-med-compliant. There were many problems in that marriage from the start, and hubby had gotten to a point where he actually began fearing for his life. She decided to focus on me as the problem, rather than her own pathological behavior, as the cause of her failed marriage.
The ex-wife “poisoned the well” for hubby and I in our living situation, too. The neighbors (both alcoholics, sad to say) bought into ex-wife’s sob story and decided it was their job to punish *me* for the breakup of hubby’s marriage. It got so bad we had to call the law on the neighbor one evening and I was very close to taking out a restraining order on them. We moved last July after the male neighbor did something that was a frank threat to my safety, and the safety of my teenage stepdaughter–but thankfully we’ve landed in a very good place to live that meets our needs perfectly.
There was Pluto+4th house Sun/Lilith material thrown at me in my job situation, too. I got a new job in a small, family-owned management office in June 2011 after being unemployed for six months prior. Three of my new coworkers decided it was their job to “punish” me because my supervisor hired me, instead of their friend whom they wanted my boss to hire.
I felt as if I was under siege, with unmerited nastiness being thrown at me from all directions *and there was nowhere I could go to escape it.* The true irony is that *none of these things were my fault.* I felt as if I was being forced to pay the piper in recompense for other peoples’ bad behavior, bad decisions, and/or screw-ups. At times, I felt the pressure and injustice of these situations was beyond my ability to endure.
I quit the terrible job back in May. Hubby and I had been struggling hard to clean up the financial mess from his prior marriage (ex-wife spent a lot of money which she had no means to pay back–she can’t hold a job–so hubby was left holding the bag). We were able recently to rework our budget *very carefully* so that I don’t have to work at all unless I want to. I’ve got so many things I want to do instead of working for money, and I am *ecstatic* that this has now become possible for me, after 30 years in the workforce.
Thankfully it appears the worst is over. These challenges to my personal power have been like nothing I’ve ever experienced before in life. With that said, I do feel that all that’s happened with this transit in particular have helped me to become a stronger person and more “sovereign,” so to speak, in my personal power.

March 31 here…..this transit has definatly changed the course in my life. I have had very positive affirmations along with the negative. I have come across manipulative behaviors in every one around me. There are times that I feel like I am being manipulative to others as well….I ended a six year relationship at the end of 2012, got into a new one that was extremely wishy washy and sexually manipulative, lost my job where my brother was my boss i.e. transiting pluto is in my third house square my sixth house sun., I had to move out of my house and into a cheaper living situation in the summer of 2013. I got into another manipulative relationship for the last five months. Im done with that and have realized that I’m not being forthright with myself about what I want. There are days where I feel like I am paralyzed with sadness, and days where I can’t wait for the next adventure…i.e. uranus conjuncting sun. I think uranus has the ability to push us forward out of old habits and create new ones that can be uplifting. I am not looking forward to pluto retrograding back over my sun this summer, but I know that if I am true to what I have learned so far, which is to go with my instincts and create a healthier lifestyle that I will survive the final pass to my sun without too much agony…*)…Its been one fuked up ride though, I will admit that….ALOT of animals dying around me too….I saw my friends cat get hit by a car, my friends kittens disappeared one nite, my roomates cat was stolen, and I witnessed a friends dog die….I guess that would be sixth house sun too….Anyways thanks for the posts…Im glad to know that I am not the only one that feels like Im losing my mind!!! hah! I cry for anyone undergoing pluto square sun. It is a relentless ass kicking. Mine started in December of 2012 and will be (finally!) wrapping itself up this November, December (2014).
I think knowing the dynamics of the square is helpful, and also the timing, so you realize (even if it feels tremendously far off) that there is an end to it.
I can see how it has helped me…ie like working out, feeling like vomiting, as you push yourself to a new level…but truly what has expanded in my life, is compassion for others…especially if you are a libra born after October 3…I cry for you, truly…but look I’ve almost made it…you can too!
And, I imagine, when we both get there, others will be less likely to push us around…and if they do push us around, they might be surprised with the velocity and skill in which we push back…:)

I aalready experiencing my transiting Uranus start to conjunct Mercury and the effect of it I started to feel about 2 years ago, let me tell you with a very unexpected and mysterious encounter with a person. (What would explain that all of my 3 planets are in the 12 house?) I have to mention the effect of sweet Neptune which is opposing my Moon in the 6th in the past 2 years and in a couple of years it will Oppose my Uranus, PLuto and Mars which are conjunct again in the 6th! And this will happen just before the Pluto square with my Sun and the Uranus conjuntion to my Sun. Well, let me tell you I am not waiting for this to happen since it is 12 and 6th house influence, and my family has a lot of health issues (father, brother) Thanks God not my kids or me, and hopefully I will survive this next lets say 5 years! I plan to REALLY lay low, but with the 12 house Neptune , and Uranus and Pluto what can I really predict? I really do not want to sound like a quotation from the school book, but I really hope that the 12 house mysterious influence when I call for help for someone “OUT THere”, will listen and come to my help and Mercy! Meditation is a good skill to have/learn when going through intense periods. It stops your mind from thinking in overdrive constantly, driving you crazy or making you scared. Learn to sit still and relax. Doing nothing is harder than what you think. Uranus, Pluto and Neptune transits are challenging, but also rewarding. Read/learn about what each planet represents in your life and become a witness to how the transits are playing out and how it makes you feel. Let them in, feel them completely and let them go. Don’t be fooled into acting out every thought or impulse. All things eventually pass. People and situations also. If without thinking you fall into old habits, shut your eyes and bring your attention back to your inner self again. Breathe slowly and relax.
I had a peak experience recently where I had to completely submit to a higher power. Have faith that something bigger than you is running the show. You are part of the plan with your own part to play. It is humanly possible to get through these times. Get fit and healthy, stick to a routine and stay away from drugs and alcohol. Get to know and become your true self. That’s what these transits are inviting you to do. . .

I’m having it right now for the fourth time. It will remain within an orb of half a degree for the next 3 months. Pressure at work is mounting and I’m having trouble dealing with it. I have no support network and that could become the biggest problem; I’m an only child from a single mother. My family consists of two people (my mother and her brother) who hate each other. Some of my lifetime friends are deserting me and I haven’t been in a relationship for many years for reasons I can’t go into. I am going through a square sun Pluto transit. It has not been easy because it is crashing me by making aware of all my weaknesses. In addition, two of my cousins and my stepfather have passed away during this transit. Furthermore, my half-brother, whom I love dearly, just found out that he has HIV. The list just goes on and on. You are out of the woods now Jihn. Your last exact square would have been in November 2014. Pluto stationed direct at 12.58 Capricorn in late September 2015 so since then the effect has been waning further.

With a Sun/Pluto/North Node exact conjunction at 14 and 15° Libra, this 3rd transit across in the past week has been really hard! and I have a couple more to go, Pluto is friggin relentless! It’s been transiting my 6th house of health and squaring my Sun/NN/Pluto combo, mostly it’s been dealing with extreme adrenal fatigue and sense of emptiness and no motivation, confusion about what my life is about and what I believe. It’s stripping down my identity to the core. The positive side is that it’s taken me deeper into my meditation and finding out what isn’t affected by any health condition. Much the same as the transit Meli but not as extreme because it lasts so long in your progressed chart. Pluto is retrograde 40% of the time so not as significant as an inner planet retrograde.

I found this website in early 2015, in a desperate search for advice on how to survive this transit and wondering how I could possibly survive 2 years of it. But while a good part of last year was truly awful, this year so far has just been moderately stressful – as you have pointed out in your monthly columns, Jamie, it really depends on what else is going on. I’m decan 2 Aries, so last year I also had Uranus conjunct my Sun, which in itself was pretty cool, if only Pluto had not been transiting square to both Uranus and my Sun – a nasty, difficult combo. This year, as Jamie has kindly reminded us decan 2 Aries every month, Uranus has moved on and we have Saturn trine Sun for most of the year, adding stability. Last year was so difficult that at first I was skeptical that this would help, but soon found that it really does make a difference – for me, the difference between truly awful and moderately stressful. So have courage, folks – Pluto square Sun doesn’t necessarily mean two full years of total misery – it really does depend on what else is going on. And I also found that when I can get past the rough stuff and catch my breath, Pluto does give the ability to see and experience greater depths of whatever is in my life or whatever I choose to focus on – a fine gift. I’m going through this Transit right now. It’s not really that bad. I can see how at times, it has sank me to my deepest level of hopelessness but the thing is, I just keep getting back up and when I do get back up, I’m a new person again. As a matter of fact, I’m becoming by and by-the person I’ve always wanted to be. I keep getting humbled by one lesson after another. To be quite honest, I’ve never dealt with so much abuse from so many people. At times, it feels like the world has thrown me away. I’m an Aries, Scorpio Rising, and a person I’ve always considered of “strong resolve”. Pluto has broken me down to a place I never could believe I’d go, a place where I thought about giving up but when there’s no light at the end of the tunnel-and I choose to keep going, I find that I am actually rewarded by Pluto. As badly as this Transit has beaten me down, it’s also renewed me. It’s renewed parts of myself that were long abandoned and forgotten about. I have a newfound level of confidence in myself that I really never had before. It’s made me see the truth about a lot of situations. A lot of it had to do with taking responsibility over faults and previous mistakes-and choosing to change-to survive. I’ve had some major battles and continue to have major battles. The good thing about this Transit is that it is also Trining natal Mars in Taurus. I think it’s this placement, ruler of my Sun, which eases this Transit a lot or should I say “gives me the extra strength to see it through”. This Transit sort of reminds me of a Uranus transit where Pluto brings shocking events. A lot of things I never thought could happen. I often find myself saying during this transit “I can’t believe this is happening” or “unbelievable”. I’m not out of the woods yet, but I have a feeling when I am-I’ll have arrived at much greener pastures. People should walk into this Transit like it’s boot camp. Ready to work under pressure, and humbly ready to be broken down-to be rebuilt again.

i think that the fact that you can observe yourself and comprehend the greater meaning to events in your life is so refreshing and wonderful. These “hardships” in life can be transformed into greater things, if we allow them to. I feel like we choose these lessons too- because otherwise, why would be going thru them in the first place? Focusing on the now helps to change the past. Because everything is in constant change. Even though Pluto is intense and relentless, it is so because it needs to be. The more afraid or resistant we are, the “tougher” the lesson. In retrospect tho, after going thru the lessons, it becomes clear that a total wiping and destruction of old ways, patterns, and behaviors, necessary.
Maybe you can update this report. Quite an adventure you’ve been on. I’m in the middle of same transit. Boot camp is very good choice to describe this seemingly endless parade of challenges. These days I like to stay home alone and recharge my batteries as much as possible for the next training day! Wow!!!

I’ve been going through this for a year now. What a pain in the ass. I’m being gangstalked by members of my community and private security who have a surviellance, illegal harassment campaign against me? Why? Because I have a lawsuit against the evil shit going on here, now they got hundreds of people following me, harassing me day and night. They even got city workers, first responders, cops, it’s just out of control. They’re trying to destroy me, sleep deprive me, even condition my mind to triggered by normal everyday noises, like a car horn or someone driving down the road. I guess these are the people Pluto manifested into my life. The goon squads are government and large corporations send after people when they don’t wanna accept personal responsibility. I don’t respect any of these evil people. No one that doesn’t have my respect can do anything to hurt me. I wasted a great deal of time going tic for tat with these people and have now decided to go after the people that sent them. Pluto can really get you in ways you don’t see until it’s (maybe??) too late. You see, after being done so wrong by our government, I managed to make a lot of changes around here. My actions indirectly resulted in a corrupt Judge stepping down from her seat and many workers. They thought there was nothing I could do to stop them and they were gonna have their way with me. I began to study the law in secrecy and when it came time for court, I came in and put a monkey wrench in what they have planned for us. They didn’t know what to do and were so scared of being exposed for what they did to us. Now they’ve sent a team of people that work for private security, fbi, cops, informants to harass the living hell out of me day and night, so much I can’t even think straight to study the law. They’ve broken into my home and are now making it clear they are watching me inside my home. They’ll honk their horns at me whenever they see me to let me know their watching me. They also will honk as soon as I stand up, sit down, they’re doing little subtle things to let me know they’re watching me, even inside my own home. Everywhere I go, someone follows me, a team of people. They know where I’m going and are waiting there. I go into the woods to forage to get away, the follow me into the woods. It’s so obvious!!!!! I’m protesting this shit. I’m taking it to the news. I’m getting advocates involved. I’m standing up for all the other poor beaten down people they’ve done this too. These people have no heart and throw high five parties when one of their targets actually kills themselves because of this. These people get paid in drugs, are high on meth all day doing this, it’s just really sick… Evil masonic shit in this town stops with me. All the people acting in the dark run and flee when you shine a light on them.
My boyfriend currently has an INTENSE Pluto transit this year… Currently Pluto squares natal sun and ascendant, Pluto opposite midhaven, Saturn is currently square his sun, moon while opposite Chiron. 🙁
Hes collapsing under the pressure and has somewhat become a monster because of the resistance. Saturn and Pluto are retrograde and will once again touch his sun, moon, mars, ascendant and midhaven once again later this year once they go direct. Heavy energy all year literally.
I wonder if he will undergo a major ego death moment because of the intensity. So much has happened already and all I can do is watch helplessly. I have recently come out of a Pluto conjunct sun and venus situation, however I did not resist the lesson and fared well. For him, the intensity builds! This was the most horrific transit I’ve ever been through. I nearly ended my life it was that bad. My dad died, I lost my baby, my cat died, got cheated on, caught std’s, my relationship ended, fell into debt and a deep depression. All in one year! It happened at the same time of my Saturn return plus Pluto square Venus, Pluto square Mercury and Pluto opposite Midheaven. I have no idea how I survived it.

Hi Jaime! I’m Aries born April 17, 1978 and life has been extremely difficult since 2012. Do you see any transits in my chart that show positive changes soon?
This happened 14 years ago for me and looking back at the transits it all makes sense why it was so horrible. I was bullied very badly in high school during this time, with major attacks on my identity. Interestingly enough, I’ve always looked back on that time perplexed because it was a period where I was absolutely sure of myself…everyone would tell me what was wrong with me and how I had no self esteem and would try and sabotage my very few friendships with lies, and I just had this attitude of “I’m actually quite pleased with myself…not sure what your problem is”. I certainly had to defend myself with every single person and on a daily basis for a long time. Pluto was in my first house squaring my Sun on the IC. I also had Saturn in the 9th (it was boarding school) opposing natal mercury in 3rd, and I entered the school when Saturn was opposing my natal Saturn in 3rd. So there was a lot going on. But it’s just funny that I’ve always looked back and wondered how despite how alone and attacked I was, and how much I’d lost my faith in the goodness of people, I still had my own back more than any other time. For anyone going through this, hang in there! It is a relief to know this was a transit. I’ve carried the wounds with me for 14 years, constantly asking myself why everyone was so awful to me, feeling undeserving of it. Turns out that maybe now I can finally release that burden of thought that this was something about me, natally…it was just Pluto square sun. I can let it go now….as Pluto currently sextiles my sun.

Oh wow, Kat, I’m going through the same type of thing. Me and my children have been stalked and terrorized by corrupt law enforcement and their goons but ours began due to my brother and his criminal associates extorting and plotting to steal my dad’s assets and money that was being left to my mom, me and my children (us being his dependents). They set me up in sham relationships and even a fake marriage when I was young to attempt to destroy and traffick me. These gangstalkers are murderers, they abuse anyone who is in their way, including children, elderly people, single women, anyone! Gangstalkers eventually murdered my parents (2012 and 2017), which started a real terror campaign against us to where we can barely leave the house due to fear for our safety, basically becoming recluse for the last 9 years. These gangstalkers have technology for spying on us in our home, tracking our every movement, creating health problems including heart attacks and emotional outbursts and mind control. They killed many pets, mostly cats, and have made my dog sick. I honestly could go on and on about the torture and pain these gangstalkers have caused. Yes, they have power in numbers, for now, and the backing of corrupt law enforcement but we have God on our side. I can sense that the Pluto squaring Aries (God of War) and Libra (Justice) is coming to a culmination with these gangstalkers being held accountable for crimes of human trafficking, domestic terrorism, torture, extortion, etc. These crimes will fall under RICO asset confiscation, causing a full-on collapse of the world economy. I would go through this gangstalking program 100 times over if it means my children and all future generations will never have to worry about being gangstalked, targeted, extorted, terrorized by mobs of human traffickers, corrupt law enforcement and corrupt politicians/wealthy elites.
