Alnilam Astrology

Alnilam is of the nature of Jupiter and Saturn (legacies, inheritance, fame, especially if rising, but foolish and unfortunate in love affairs). It gives fleeting public honors. [1]

ε Orinis. A white star, spectral class B0. The native is subject to fleeting honors, fame, wealth, romantic problems. Native is keen, shameless, of a headstrong nature, a studious nature, rash, a fabricator. [6]

The star Alnilam portends public honors to all those born under its influence. It was also said to indicate a good nut crop. [2]

Alnilam has a generally brighter message with its pearls or jewels on the belt, and its Jupiter-Saturn simile. It is the signal of being able to do really great things if it is well aspected, and to be well rewarded as a result. Otherwise, however, it can reflect much of the useless bravado and show of some (not all) whom we see around at present with glittering studs over their leather jackets, and nothing better to fight about than whether the rival gang has long or short hair! Alnilam gives a combative nature with the tongue, and sometimes manually too, which can lead to misfortune.[3]

Alnilam star rules the diaphragm in the human body. [4]

The Belt of Orion: Mintaka, Alnitak and Alnilam

Orion’s Belt gives strength, energy, industry, organizing abilities, notoriety, good fortune, lasting happiness, a sharp mind and a good memory. [1]

These stars in medieval times were said to presage those who were “passionately devoted to hunting, but not noble hunting with falcon or bow”. [2]

Constellation Orion

Orion is the most important constellation in the heavens outside the zodiac. In judicial astrology this is the constellation of war. In the Middle Ages this constellation was said to be a direful influence to agriculture, being the “the veri cuttrhrote of cattle” and presaging violent storms and much rain. In genethiacal charts the indications are for arrogance, rebellion, strength, and courage. Tetrabiblos lists the stars in the shoulder of Orion to have a nature similar to that of Mars and Mercury, and the other bright stars in the constellation to be similar to the natures of Jupiter and Saturn. [2]

According to Ptolemy the bright stars with the exception of Betelgeuze and Bellatrix are like Jupiter and Saturn. It is said to give a strong and dignified nature, self-confidence, inconstancy, arrogance, violence, impiety, prosperity in trade and particularly by voyages or abroad, but danger of treachery and poison. It was thought by the Romans to be very harmful to cattle and productive of storms. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Aleph and the 1st Tarot Trump “The Juggler.” [1]

  1. You’re one of the best astrology in all Internet appreciate all what you do here and I hope god safe you ….

Thank you for great information thanks a lot ….

    • That’s a really hard question as understanding Chiron is still a work in progress. I would stick to the general description or perhaps blend the Saturn and Uranus interpretations.

    • Everything I can find I add here. But the Jupiter Saturn nature and “public honors” suggest a government position, perhaps management or business, job security.

  2. great site. Back in the day before the internet, all I had for the stars was the power of fixed stars by joseph rigor and star names and robsons fixed stars. One thing I learned about Orion’s belt is that persons having these stars prominent in their chart always wanted to be rich above all else. And many became somewhat wealthy but gave gifts to their friends, not their family. one thing people should learn with this freak Trump is that people should stop bowing to the rich. Trump hates the common people, the poor and the handicapped and the poor or common masses hate the poor as well but glorify the rich.
