New Moon August 2015 AstrologyThe New Moon on 14 August 2015 falls just within Leo decan 3. At 21 degrees Leo, this new moon also falls in the Leo Constellation, on a star in the Head of the Lion. The astrology of the August 14 new moon makes a pleasant change from the run of challenging moon phases and transits of late.

Venus aligns with the new moon to bring peace, love and harmony. New starts associated with new moons in general, now become exiting and related to love, thanks to a friendly aspect from Uranus. A fun and sociable new moon phase to look forward to.

New Moon Meaning

A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new 28 day cycle. With the Sun conjunct Moon, all possibilities are on the table and you can rightly put yourself in the forefront of new plans for the future. Old habits, behaviors and beliefs can be questioned as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress. This is the ideal time to make a fresh start and start writing down a to-do list on a blank sheet of paper.

However, the impulsive and enthusiastic nature of a new moon means that not all new projects will succeed. The best time for making a fresh start and for beginning new projects is during the first two weeks of a new moon cycle. This waxing phase of the moon lasts from the August 14 new moon until the August 29 full moon.

New Moon August 2015 Astrology

The August 14 new moon breaks the recent run of challenging moon phases, and astrology in general. The strongest influence on the new moon is the close alignment of Venus. Sun conjunct Venus is a great omen for love and money during this four-week new moon phase.

Venus will have a harmonious influence on relationships of every kind. Peaceful settlements can be found to recent disputes as there will be a generally feeling of calm and good cheer. Love relationships come in for special attention with everyone feeling more affectionate and in need of company. This sociable influence favors making new friends and improving existing relationships.

Venus retrograde at the time of the new moon suggests the possibility of connecting with previous lovers or past life contacts. There is a theme of sadness and disappointment attached to the Venus retrograde cycle, but this should not be felt strongly at this stage given Venus square Saturn is wide in orb at over five degrees.

A much stronger influence than Saturn on the new moon is Uranus. As shown in the New Moon August 2015 astrology chart below, Venus, Moon and Sun trine Uranus to bring anticipation of an exciting new romance. New relationships started in this new moon phase would be thrilling or peculiar in some way, but may not be long-term, or marriage material.
New Moon August 2015 Astrology
The new moon and Venus trine Uranus provides both a creative and intuitive spark to any new projects started at the new moon. This really favors brand new, original or unorthodox endeavors, especially in the arts, dance or self promotion. You will be able to express a more unique side of yourself with confidence and ease, perhaps changing your style of dress or hair. Turning over a new leaf in such a way would allow you to experience a sense of freedom and exhilaration.

Business matters are also favored with Venus ruling money. The involvement of Uranus suggests investment with some risk involved and of a short-term nature. Financial windfalls are possible if you remain flexible and keep an open mind. Intuition will be stronger than usual and you may experience flashes of insight or heightened psychic ability. Such foresight could involve the new moon themes of love, creativity or money.

Along with Venus, the new moon also aligns with the fixed star Ras Elased Australis in the Head of the Lion. This will benefit any new projects and self promotion as it gives artistic appreciation and power of expression. Another benefit from this star is the quality of looking carefully at a situation before forging ahead into it. This combines well with the strong insight of Uranus in reducing the dangers of any risk-taking.

  1. Hi, my birthday is August 15th, so will this moon affect my solar return somehow?

        • He answered it in the comments for the Leo Horoscope for August. It will impact us for a year, in a good way!

  2. Hi Jamie, that is interesting, as I have Jupiter in Leo 21 degrees in my 7th house conjuncts Pluto 26 Leo also in the 7th! lol Oh god, get me to a nunnery! 😉 Great article as always.

  3. sooo conjunct natal Uranus in 10th house of my Venus ruled chart, I didnt notice this one ahead which is sort of strange in a very left field Uranus way itself…also conjunct progressed BML in 8th house while north node conjunct progressed MC and BML conjunct progressed Mars in 9th . Not really sure what to make of this either, intuition silent…something hanging in the balance that could go either way? Sudden career opportunity overseas may be? feeling stumped and a little uneasy with it, not sure if excitement or anxiety? need to find some inspiration somewhere/how ???

  4. This New Moon will conjunct my AC which is at 23 Leo. But at the same time oppose my natal Saturn.

  5. thanks for the insights, Jamie. You brought up points ignored by other astrologers, such as making those of us in a relationship want more affection and contact! that’s exactly what happened in My life! Also, my Sun is 22 degrees Aquarius, just barely into my 9th house! lots of improvement in communication and contact (new) with members of my family !!

  6. hi i was born sep 5 ,1990. i have been through a rough year of betrayals .i really feel i have to have a good romance to relate .When will this happen ? can it happen through the venus retrograde period ?

    • There is a lot of relationship themed astrology coming up, especially with both the September eclipses.
